Maybe there is a thread on this topic that i couldn't find, but I am curious about water storage for camping.
I have been carrying a three gallon container but now have a shower that my family loves, so i need to carry more... and was thinking about putting it on my roof rack with a hose to dispense... maybe not the best idea.

But I would love to know how you carry extra water on trips!

    Thanks all!

A guy I work with is building a camp shower for the roof rack on his Jeep. He's using 5" PVC pipe U-bolted to his roof rack as a reservoir. Kind of a cool idea

I think that system is all over the other site, been around for awhile. It does work well though, if set up properly.

My friend did the same on his tundra. 6" x 10ft PVC. Capped on one. Elbow on back end for easy filling. and tapped with a small spigot.

I know a guy that uses a Waterport on his tacoma. Pretty cool. But his was only 3.5 or 4 gallons. It sprayed pressurized water for about 10 minutes if i remember correctly.

I wanted one when i seen his... But didn't want to spend 200 on it LOL

I have a Waterport. I am pretty happy with it. You can pressurize it with a compressor or pump it up by hand. We use it to do dishes, take brief navy showers, rinse off the hounds. You can mount it to your hitch, or metal tube on your sliders, or Tslot rails. Haven’t tried it on the roof rack but sure you could modify one of the three different brackets to work, we use the hitch bracket. It’s black with a black thermal sleeve so if you leave it in the sun it will warm up nicely. I got mine through Costco for $159 for 3.7 gal. It also comes with a padlock to secure it to the bracket. It’s good for a 2-3 day trip

I bought a roadshower on discount last year but have yet to use it to give an opinion but they have great reviews.

It is by far the simplest mod for a quick removable water source, I also carry a few rotopax containers just for refills. It's very easy to pressurize like stated above and it comes will a quick hose fill from the bottom side. It was great when we went to the beaches this summer and when I go inshore fishing next to the truck.

Waterport looks good but is it really only 3.7Gallons?

That wouldn't cut it for our weekend trips.
