Pretty easy install, less than 10 minutes, came packaged very well but they forgot (2) 1/4” lock nuts, fortunately I had some replacement in the garage. Looking through my stuff for something to put in the empty space.

Well tomorrow I'll see how the T4R pulls my boat. Only 16' so it shouldn't have a problem but I'm guessing gas mileage will SUCK.

Oh well. I need to go fishing BAD! The boat is a 2019 tracker panfish 16 stick steer with a 40hp mercury. Nothing big or fancy but i love it. I'm a fan of stick steer and I've taken the boat out over 20 times this year and it runs great. About 32-34mph which is fast enough for me... but what's excellent is i can go fishing 10 times on a tank of gas and the fuel tank is only 11 gallons!!!

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
    DSCN5389.jpg DSCN5389.jpg DSCN5388.jpg DSCN5390.jpg DSCN5391.jpg DSCN5392.jpg DSCN5393.jpg DSCN5394.jpg
Well I got The Borla 40665 in today. It was not fun but part of that is because of my decision on how to get the 4 inches or so you need to make up the difference in length. Please excuse my pic and video skills or lack thereof lol.
My son suggested cutting open the stock muffler and seeing if there was enough pipe to use and make up the difference. There are 3 layers of metal before you get to the innards! As the pics show there is plenty of pipe but it's perforated about 2 inches in on the outlet side and about 3 inches in on the inlet side. I cut them off just before the perforations but thinking about it afterwards I could have cut after them and got a little more pipe inside of the Borla muffler. The perforations wouldn't have mattered inside the muffler pipe. There was enough to get a good seal though. A lot of time grinding down the welds on the stock pipes but it's all one stainless piece instead of going to the parts store and getting some kind of adapter that would be steel and would rust out after a few years.
You really have to remove the spare tire to get at the rear flange bolts.
The bottom nuts that are easy to get to are welded in place so you have to get the bolts out through the top. It's much easier to get access and leverage from the back of the truck but it's a bit of a pain to drop the spare.
I used a milk crate and a couple of 2x6's to hold the weight of the original muffler before I unbolted everything and took off the hangers. The new muffler is about 1/2 the weight of the old one ( I wanted to weigh them but forgot to) so it's easier to get it back in but using the crate helps hold everything in place while you bolt everything up and get the clamps fully tightened.
The hangers are all attached to the muffler not the pipe except for the front one so you lose them. I felt it was not good to leave all that pipe and muffler just hanging there so I made up a hanger from metal, perforated strap at the back of the muffler from the clamp bolt to the original rubber hanger. It's a little ghetto but keeps the tail pipe in the right place. No vibrations at least for the short test drive. I'll get a pic of it if you guys want but I'm too tired right now lol. What can I say, I'm an old SOB and 4 hours straight work has me tuckered out!

Finally the sound. I really like it. A good rumble when getting on it and at start up (the start up video I took sucked, I'll get another tomorrow) but not too loud at all and just a bit louder than stock when cruising. I'm really happy with it and recommend it for $104 plus two SS clamps it's a lot cheaper than a cat back and to me sounds just as good. More work though.
The pic of the front pipe shows the amount of extra pipe I got from inside the muffler. The shiny part is the extra part.
The test drive video would not upload for some reason. I'll try again later.

I added links to two videos. Not great quality but it's what I got.

Saw this in the other forum.

I never was interested in getting an exhaust system for the runner, but this one sounds good to me and you can kick the exhaust pipe out to the side.

And the price is good too!

Installed the GoRhino roof rack I took off of my Yukon. Sprayed it with a fresh coat of bedliner, then installed factory cross bars, and mounted it using some redneck engineering with brackets I found in my garage. Turned out nice. But I did put a couple of dings in the roof edge popping the rack mount covers off. Thought I was being careful and using a rag to protect the paint and everything... :frustrated: Off to the body shop to see if they can PDR them.

I got the Runner on the parkway for the first time since the muffler install. I'm completely happy with it. No drone at all, almost stock at steady throttle, a bit of rumble with mild acceleration but best of all is noticeable power increase getting on the parkway and when passing and great sound. Not huge but it's definitely noticeable. Very happy with this mod.

Not a "good" mod but a fun one. Came down HARD on the slider. Praise baby Jesus for DOM tubing! I am surprised how little damage there was for how hard it hit, just that little scratch on the outer tube. It came straight down so it didn't scrape to much. Wife was not what I would call "happy" about the hit but we were having enough fun to offset any ill will towards me haha!

I just replaced our cabin air filter at 15k.... First, don't they all look like this at 15k? Haha!

    IMG_20190826_173914.jpg

What bothers me however, the cabin air filter is covered under our maintenance plan and the dealer "checked" it and said it was fine. BS! This this is destroyed. Not cool Toyota

Put this 8 dollar part in and now my dash lights dim automatically like a grown up car. Search Ebay and they can be had in the US for quick shipping
Can't believe they put the wire in plugged into a blank sensor. Probably would have cost them .30 cents if that

Ordered a Gibson exhaust. Dual exit, black ceramic tips. $450 @ JEGS with a $25 off RACE2SAVE coupon. Also picked up an AEM dry flow drop in filter.

I don’t think any of them come with a sensor. Honestly it’s kind of a useless mod. I did it and thought I didn’t work till it rained today and decided to put my hand over it with my headlights on. I noticed the dash lights dim and come back when I removed my hand. I would never have noticed the difference if I wasn’t looking for it. I guess I’m old.

    Are your wheels red/black?

Also, which fender flares are those?

Yes they are Black & Red Vision Offroad Fury 17 X 8.5 with 0 offset. Flares are the bushwacker pocket flares. I sprayed them with Raptor liner and then painted all the hardware red to match the whole black n red color scheme I've got going on.

I got these today and put them on. Quality stickers, clear instructions but they are a bit tricky. You need patience. At least more than I have! They come with an extra center stripe which I had to use, an extra emblem and three extra "dots". They are not perfect due to my as mentioned lack of patience but I think they look good. Subtle but noticeable.

Now just black out the TRD Off Road, but put a red overlay on the TRD.

I want these so bad but it is mind boggling that rock sliders - hand built - requiring bending and welding cost only 1-200 more than some probably laser cut panels.

Black chrome exhaust tip, blacked out all badges, had front and rear valances painted a matt black to match trim and had front windows tinted to match rear windows.

Thats about it for me for awhile...

I like the badges on it but definitely want to make them red/black. I’ve considered an exhaust tip but unsure if she’d like it. She’s getting her windows tinted soon.
I do plan to dip the valances soon, too.
Also will be upgrading all the front lights to LED and adding some rigid ditch lights.
