I visited my daughter and son-in-law in Japan last Fall and was amazed at the different Toyota models available over there.

My daughter had just bought a Toyota minivan called the Alphard. Unique seating system that was totally modular. Taller and more narrow than American minivans. Hers was used with 70k miles on it. I believe she paid $3500 for it...

Japan has some unique minivans, and some are AWD and sit reasonably high...

I thought I'd see tons of Hilux pickups, but nope. Saw one. My son-in-law is a motorhead and knows all of the various restrictions and laws on vehicles there, which are extensive. Apparently something about the Hilux makes it impractical to own there.

The most common Toyota pickup I saw was this monstrosity...

Lots of very cool performance cars over there. More Skylines than you could shake a stick at...

My son-in-law is a Subaru fanboy and his daily driver over there is a 2005 Subaru Forester WRX STI with 375hp. He paid $7500 for it. Apparently they don't exist over here.

He really wants to import something called a Jimny. It's a little off-road vehicle that is about the size of a UTV. He's 6'2" and I have no idea how he fits in them.
