Hello Everyone! We just purchased a 2005 V8 SR5 and are loving it! We should have picked one of these up a long time ago. I'm hoping to learn a lot from those of you here.

Quick (perhaps/probably dumb) question however: On the driver's side of the roof near the rear window, there is a plastic piece with a wire sticking out of it. I can't tell if it's broken but it certainly doesn't look right. I have not seen another 4Runner online that has this. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what it is so that I can fix it (if needed)?

    Thanks! Happy to be here!

Looks like XM/nav antennae from and aftermarket head unit. The wire being cut leads me to think it’s doing nothing for you. Remove it if you like.

Thanks! My first guess was an antenna but the location wasn't adding up.

Sometimes people just go with ease of installation. That location versus going through the firewall.

    Welcome from Wisconsin!

Enjoy the torque! I like my v6, but sometimes miss my '03 v8. It was great for towing!

Welcome fellow NC 4runner. That antenna should be a magnet. Hopefully they didnt glue it on. Looks like my old XM one.
