The item seems well built and should last a long time for people using it for personal use. I don't know if I'll ever need it again, but it's cheaper to buy this than have the car diagnosed by a mechanic.
After using the pump, I initially found water spraying out of tiny holes in my radiator. So I replaced the radiator. I then pumped up the pressure again and there was no water or pressure leaks. I waited a few minutes and everything was ok. All fixed.
The one problem I had, was the large adaptor Mityvac supplied, didn't fit my car. The large adaptor is for 1990's and 2000's model Ford and General Motors cars, but t didn't fit my 2004 Australian Ford Territory SUV. I needed to buy another adaptor, which cost me US$25. Not such a big deal. I had already predicted I might need to buy another adaptor for my Australian Ford car. Mityvac state their adaptor doesn't suit all Fords. I'm guessing Mityvac's adaptor probably fits most US Fords.
I bought a Tridon brand adaptor (Tridon reference number 308506) and attached it to the Mityvac plastic pipe. I used a metal hose clamp to secure the plastic pipe to the metal tube of the Tridon adaptor. It was simple to attach. Here are the links to the adaptor and hose clamp I used. I attach the links just to clarify.

This lit has several adaptors, a pump and meter assembly and clear interconnection hose. The kit was useful in testing the radiator cap and confirming the relief pressure spec.
Initially there was some confusion on the delivery date, where it was delayed way beyond the original date, but then was corrected and delivered pretty close to the initial stated shipping date. Thanks for that.
For the price I think this is a good value. More to come as I run additional test with this device.

No real issues with it. The tool itself is made from some kind of composite plastic, so I would say that its construction is probably more geared toward the shade tree mechanic rather than a full blown mechanic shop. Aside from that, it does what it says on the tin.
One thing to be aware of though is that there is a list of manufacturers that the tool supports. Might be wise to crosscheck their Mityvac's website to ensure that your application is supported. With that said, the tool comes with several adapters to cover a wide range of applications.
Actually I would give 4.5 stars.
Only concern is the compression fitting nuts that fit on both the hand unit and the caps seems a bit on the fragile side.
It appears and feels that one must be somewhat careful when tightening these, and, you have to tighten them considerably to keep from leaking. Other than that, a great addition to the DIY guys tool box.
Arrived promptly via Prime Membership. ( 3 days I think ).
EDIT 2017-01-08
First unit failed. Hand pump would not pump pressure to the system. I sent email to Amazon.ca and was replied to in approx 3 hours. A new unit was shipped that day with an email to print a return shipping label. The new unit arrived in 3 days and the old one sent back on that day. Excellent customer service from Amazon. Thank you.
Up until the hand pump failed it worked perfectly.
Pumping the little hand squeeze pump is tiresome, but...hey...It works, and the unit is inexpensive.
I recommend it for the home mechanic.
