Alot of reviews show it doesn't work correctly. So I tapped and hardwired into the correct wire behind my trailer plugs. If you have the seven pin there should be an 12v trailer reverse light wire. (Some trailers do have reverse lights). You could tap the taillight for reverse, but I wasn't pulling off the taillight. Make sure you at least eletrical tape off all your connections at least when done.
Everything works as it should. We will see how long it lasts. 5 stars for now.

I’ve read that several people have had some failures right away. I suggest you don’t just unroll the light strip right out of the package especially if it’s cold weather. Bring it inside and let it climatize for a couple of hours. Then slowly straighten it out and let it lay flat overnight. This will help reduce circuit failure and the flatter you get it before installation the better it will adhere to your vehicle. This won’t stop all the failures but it should reduce some of them. Worked well for me. Can’t say how long it last yet but works great so far even through the car wash.

Running lights failed within one hour

The product was easy to install, the LEDs are nice and bright, and I like the bright white reverse light functionality. Unfortunately, the running light function quit in the first hour of use, and the end of the strip became hot enough to burn a fingertip. I’ve been engaged in a week-long back & forth with the manufacturer, sent pictures, videos, proof of purchase, everything they’ve asked, but still no answer on if they’ll honor the warranty. At this point I have no choice but to return it through Amazon I guess. It’s a bummer since I like the product (other than the immediate failure of course).
Edited to update: it’s been almost another week, and after a phone call from mainland China and sending more pictures of myself using a digital multimeter to measure current and voltage readings in various parts of the running light circuit, they have advised me that they are sending a replacement. Will update again once I receive and install the replacement light strip.
Update #2: I received my replacement light strip. Prior to installation I decided I should bench-test it so as to not waste my time if this one was faulty as well. Connected to a 12v battery right out of the package, the running lights worked. This strip comes tightly coiled in a plastic/foil bag and has to be unrolled to install it, obviously. I left power applied as I very slowly unrolled it, and I only got about 20” before the running lights failed in the exact same way. I emailed the company again, with the exact info of what happened, and their reply was that “our strip may not be compatible with your vehicle.” Pretty sad.

Moral of the story: pay a bit more and get a product with better build quality. I knew I was buying a cheap product, but good grief.

Great Product and Easy Install

Instead of installing under the tailgate, it was flexible enough to follow the lines of the bottom of my Jeep Gladiator's bumper and that's where I installed it. Because of the height of the Jeep it brings it to the lower end of most driver's line of sight. The adhesive is bonding firmly but because it was cool I used my heat gun to warm everything while applying. 2 weeks of use and 2 carwashes and it is still holding strong. Attaching the red lead for the reverse light was a bit of a challenges due to the amount of wire accessible on my trucks harness so I created a jumper and man, do the extra revers lights help when backing at night.

I just installed these a day ago so I can't say anything on them long term but these lights where stepped on, tripped over and put through the ringer during the long install (got alot going on all at the same time) and I was shocked to see each strand withstand the poor treatment and perform faulesly! Only a few complaints! 1 I recieved 0 instructions (I didn't need them as I'm experienced in the electrical field) but I could see someone lost on the wiring if they have nothing to show them how to hook them up. 2. It was near impossible tfor me to find the app for them!! I even contacted Amazon support and the app they gave me was incorrect. I finally found it on the website. The app is called Happy Lighting. 3. Even using the app which ive only got to work once cause it cant detect the lights for some reason and the color purple is impossible to create which was my biggest disappointment. There purple is pink and there is no way I found to get a deep purple from these lights. The other colors are very vibrate and as bright as you could want or need! Ultimately I'm happy but wouldn't buy them again if only because of the unreliable app and color issue. Take your time plan out prior to install your placements with a measuring tape and don't trust the tape, it may stick initially but it will NOT stay no matter how much you clean (I installed on a brand new car and they fell off). Use the brackets and zip tie's included and your install will be a breeze!

Lights work well. Hooked them up to the rear of the trailer for extra turn signals and back up light. Cutting and soldering the wires to the junction box is pretty forward.

Installation straight forward, hooked right to the trailer hookups. They don't quite go the length of my 07 F150 tailgate leaving about 7 inches each side once centered.
I removed my tailgate and brought in the house and cleaned the area for the adhesive sticker. It's winter here so I wanted to install the lights in the warm for best outcome.
Can be used strictly for brake/blinkers but optional hookup to wire it as a reverse light as well. I'm not the best with vehicle wiring but this took 5 mins.
Overall for the money I'm happy. Would purchase again
