I will say that I think it's more of a car-camping type of fan since it's really bulky and heavy. That pays off because of how well it works, but we hiked a few miles in before we made camp, and the only way I could store the fan was strapped to the exterior of my pack. That worked fine but it did add some extra weight to it. If I were on a long distance backpacking trip I think it would be too bulky and heavy to bring with me. But if I'm not too far from the car, then this thing is ideal!
I first attach a clothes rod (travel rod type) across the back seat hooks & then I hook two of these fans across the clothes rod.
Perfect. However, I doubt if this would work if there are additional people in the back seat as the fans would probably get in the way
of viewing the movie. But for two people, in the front seat, it works so well for us! Have used the fans in a tent and it works well, but
my purchase was mainly to use at the drive-in movies.
