I have no traction in the rain, I have new tires all terrain 265/70/16. I have 5 bags of sand in the bed of the truck. I come to a stop light on a small incline and I sit and spin. I live in Austin, Texas thank goodness we don't have much freezing weather here. It's a great truck besides the spinning. I just moved from the flat lands of New Mexico and didn't have any problems there. You have any suggestions,
    Thanks

It might help to know what tires you are running, and air pressure. Welcome.

There is a chance it is the oil on the roads.
I learned long ago that the time the roads are most slippery is right after a light rain or as it starts to rain. It is due to the oils & fluids being suspended from the water and not washed away yet.
    Taco torque! Lol

I have Goodyear wranglers, the front psi is 29 and the back psi is 27 when it rains, otherwise I run 29 psi constant. I can push the button to lock in the rear differential to get me out of the traffic when needed then I have to pull over and unlock the differential so I don't tear up the rear end.

I drive in the metro Phoenix area and have the same problem with my Tundra on the rainy day(s), but doesn’t seem to be an issue with the runner. Got Coopers on the pu and stock Dunlaps on the runner.

That is one of the reasons I converted my 2005 Prerunner Toyota Tacoma to 4x4
