What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Installed protective film on the front bumper and headlights.

 

What brand and how is it to work with?

 

I used Expel Protective film (Pre-cut), it was my first time installing Protective film. It took me about a half a day. I have Protective Film in matte finish for the Pro grill (top and bottom piece w Toyota letters cut off) but decide not to use it. My original plan was to have the grill covered in Matte Finish and the bumper in non matte so it was stand out. I’ll probably end up selling it if someone is interested.

 

Finally finished and installed my rear hatch trim.
Custom Trail Logo, blacked out yota with clear.

Took advantage of Home Depot’s 20% off floor liner sale and got some Huskies. I’ve had these in my Taco for a few years and they’re definitely worth the investment.

 

I scratched the CRAP out of it today! Good thing it's my wife's! Haha. I will be on the phone getting quotes to wrap it I think.... Wife is not "excited" about the racing stripes but greenlighted Rhino lining the whole thing if it gets too bad in the next year.

 

@lyodbraun I found the emblems on Shapeways.com. I tried to paint them but they wouldn't take primer or color. I just put a few coats of black and clear. The same layers as the yota emblem. The yota emblem is the original. Soaked in bleach to remove the chrome. Rattle can black and clear.

 

Rhino lining or similar is very heavy.
I called local Linex dealer to get a quote for under the bed of pickup, inside bed & rockers. He said that it would be ridiculously heavy & if I wanted to just use DIY bed liner for under the bed.
Long story...
Maybe look into clear wrap like Xpel or put a killer wrap on it & let it be.
Also, remember that we bought these to drive. These aren't show pieces.
Like 'Mater says in Cars. They all remind us of the fun we had in our vehicles.
I understand your frustration. Trust me. You saw our Xpel bill! Lol

@KSJ08 it's the factory TRD Pro Rack on 2019. Still up in the air on it.

 

Yep! This is the wife's daily. I am looking at xpel etc. We rolled 14k miles on this trip and she's looking ROUGH haha. There is no question it gets used for what we bought it for!

 

We have not tested the properties of Xpel scratches yet.
I hope the advertising will stand up.
The investment isn't cheap. However, if it fixes these problems.

Where is most of your scuff and scratches on your wife’s runner?

 

That is pretty in-depth. I love the Baja's but I do not use them for street only trail. The lights decimate dusty and foggy roads.

 

swapped over the silver roof rails for the matte black powder coated ones from trdshop.com & oem black end caps, love the end results. thanks too @aroyalsfan for the tip.

 

The front of ours is wrapped in LLumar (from dealer) and it scratches but "heals" when it gets hot and it actually works as advertised for the most part. All of the new pinstripes are on the side for the most part. I will buff it out for her so it looks a little better but I'm not going to worry about it too much, we have a trip in the week after next anyways!

yeah the morimoto xb led's and i'm going with yellow, I miss having it.

 

Just need a few minutes and I can take a 10 minute break and put them on
