So the 2019 pro roof rack is great, but how the heck are you suppose to access it?

Swap it out with something a little more utilitarian and that you won’t be too worried about with scratches and scuffs.

I might just get one of those steps that hangs on the inside latch.

On another note, are there any storage bins suitable for the trd roof rack? I kept a plastic tub of my tools in the bed of my truck

I’d recommend a Gobi Ladder but you’ll have traded it in or sold it for the 2029 4Runner by the time you receive the ladder.

Sounds like you need to mod a rolling ladder so you can tow it behind you or park under a retaining wall.

Some funny comments here. :D Yeah I agree with 4X4Runner, the stock pro rack is not great and would sell it for something more useful. LFD or SSO...Gobi sucks. IMO

I had a 2008 FJC with the same, not same roof rack and found it to be absolutely worthless as a rack. I put some totes up there and watched the crossbars flex and said nope, nada, not on here. I reached up once to pull myself up on the back and the center section flexed.

Honestly. I’d offer up ARB as a rack or the front runner 3/4 rack if you don’t want to drill into the roof. The front runner full rack is really nice but requires drilling and rivnuts. ARB makes the touring or flat rack and it’s relatively cheap (<$800 for the fit kit and rack)
