Have you heard the news? RPMFAB has been all over social media promoting their big sale for Overland Expo West, they even had a booth their promoting their products and taking orders. A few days later they emailed all the customers and said they are filling for bankruptcy and open orders will not be fulfilled. It appears to be another Pelfrey scenario, last ditch money grab before fucking everyone over.

Where did you see them say they were filing
BK? I’m watching several “places” and haven’t seen any mention.

They just got hit with 41k in state tax liens in recent months. Might’ve had a major impact amongst other factors.

Yes. I’ve seen the email 50 times already. But it doesn’t mention BK. Best bet is to find someone with a Pacer account to confirm your accusation.

Actually I just paid for Pacer and no BK filing yet for either of the owners or business so far.

Ok, maybe it’s not bankruptcy, the point remains they shut the down all their operations and told everyone their orders won’t be fulfilled immediately after posting big sales to take in some last minute funds. And they haven’t stated anywhere that people will get refunds. I guess I don’t really car if it’s an actual bankruptcy or just a scam, I have nothing at stake here. I asked them some pretty blunt questions about about their roof rack when I was shopping for one and they kept on posting on that same thread but they refused to answer or even acknowledge what I asked. That kinda left a bad taste in my mouth about them, their whole business was based around copying other companies designs.

    Too many to list...
It's horrible this is happening. I got a roof rack from them at the beginning of this winter. I absolutely love my rack and feel that it is great quality. I really hope everyone gets their money back. Here in AZ, we have a local Arizona 4runners group on Facebook and people are blasting Don Rycroft Sr.

I do know this... Don Rycroft is a Jeep guy and primarily tailored their services/ products to the Jeep world. I can only imagine the hate he's getting on their forums/ sites.

Well, looks like someone's tax accounting skills at that company are a little weak...

Sounds like the state shut them down due to the back taxes.

It's just another person spreading misleading information.

You should see the crap being posted on T4R! Members have managed to find another company called RPM Custom Fabrication, and are now claiming it to be the recently closed RPMfab.

I don’t go on that site, I can only imagine the dumpster fires over there. I only login or look because my 4runner is listed for sale there. :anonymous:

I try not to chime in much since it's just a bunch of keyboard warriors posting in accurate information. At least now I know that it's the same on multiple forums.

I've heard the owner was out buying AR15's at a local gun shop. File for bankruptcy, had $50k owed in taxes, and even claiming a turbo shop for 4 cylinders car bought them out. Of course all of this was from Arizona residents that apparently have an inside scoop on things.

The son owns a gun business. The son was listed as an officer on some of the paperwork. But papa ran the business.

I try to look at facts and things found in public records. I don’t care for rumors.

Did the state seize their property and assests due to not paying the taxes? If so keep an ear to the ground since there is a chance for an auction coming up. Happened to the wheel business next to our warehouse last year. State came in and seized everything, gave 48 hours for them to pay, and two weeks later had an auction and sold every last thing out of the building.

Holy cow, not 18% apr, 18% per month! That’s 216% apr! Plus late fee. Better off going into hock with a loan shark or some Italians. Where’s the government oversight on this extortion? I’m not sticking up for shady businesses, but holy cow!

If a business charged this much, the public would be in outcry and the business shamed.

It’s like a credit card, 23.99% interest... if you don’t pay off your debt and you carry over a negative balance. Pay your bills and everything is fine.

Only 10x the interest rate not counting the one time late fee per month too! Nuts!

That's what I've heard, and there are already a couple people planning on attending the auction when it happens.

If that's the case they'll sell everything from the auto parts to the staplers. Anything not nailed down and even a few things that are if they aren't a part of the building structure. If they had any personal vehicles that were actually registered by the business those are getting auctioned too as long as there aren't any liens. I'm sure they had some cool knick knacks and things laying around too. Would totally be worth going to if you're anywhere near by.

Not that easy. In most situations like this you have to be approved by the state to bid at a state run auction

It was exactly that easy at the wheel shop next door to us.

He’s back with another company. At first he said he was just a manager. Now he claims to be the owner. I sure hope he still doesn’t own anyone money.
