i have a Ready Lift 3” lift on my 18 ORP non KDSS and a couple of months ago I went to my dealer to have them install a TRD Skid Plate. Needless to say they could do it because of my lift.
So now I’m back at it for a try myself. It seems to my that if my factory plates fit with no issue the skid plate should. That and the knowledge that most dealers are idiots.
I purchased the Skid plate PTR60-89190 and along with that it said that I needed a hardware kit PT938-00140-AA. The hardware kit doesn’t have any instructions and the ones I found online don’t mention it. The kit comes with some spacers and bolts.
When the dealer tried to install it and couldn’t they were using just the plate and not the parts kit. I guess my question is what’s the deal with the spacers and where do they go?

It’s only 4 bolts to install. The longer bolts with the spacers are for the front. Reuse the stock rear, shorter bolts to make it easier. Did the install in my driveway. Took about an hour total.

Thanks just found that video. It wasn’t up the last time I looked and had the dealer try.

Ok just spent a hour working on this and found the issue the dealer had.
Seems they were right my lift components are in the way to an extent.
Pic’s 1 & 2 shows spacers added with my lift which causes the skid plate not to fit flush pic 3. It seems the back bolts holes are just a hair off which won’t allow the bolts to screw in.
I’m thinking that all I have to do is bore out the back holes to give room for the bolts to line up and the back of the skid plate would sit about a inch low in the back.
All you guys who have experience with this sort of stuff is this a safe plan?
    Thank everyone

    More information.

The hardware kit wasn’t necessary as the Skid plate already came with it.

Thanks to 2016 4Runner SR5 for pointing me in the right direction. The diff drop that was installed with my Readylift is causing the issue. He suggested spacers to drop the skid plate. Further research I found that Readylift makes a spacer kit to fix this problem for Tundra’s. I’ve contacted them about one for 4RUNNER’s.

Finally got the TRD skid plate installed. Having actually mistakenly purchased a duplicate install kit paid off.
I used the extra spacers in the back to make up for the diff drop. After research it turns out that Readylift included skid plate spacers that my installer didn’t need/use. I went to the installer and he still had them so I used them combined with the OEM ones in the front. I did need to buy longer bolts for the upfront holes.
All in all I’m happy with how easy it went after I got things sorted out.

I loved it when I saw the White with red letters Skid plate at the lot. but 378.00 was expensive LFD off road has one that is RAW so you can paint it the way you want it for 220.00

Dude shop around I paid 290.00 from my dealer. Also some dealers price match so you can try that option.

Very true 2 things 1 I didn’t have the OEM bolts to put back in. The other is I’m OCD about things like this.
