Thanks! My profession is cinematography and photography so naturally my new 4Runner is going to get some camera time. ha

I've gone 15k miles in a little over 9 months of ownership. Average 18.5 mpg overall. On a 700 mile roundtrip last week, I average 20.4 (going 75-80 most of the way)

You're almost as bad as me: 3 months, 10K!
Just got my first oil change with a complimentary scratch on the drivers side quarter panel. Bastards! I guess I'll be doing my own maintenance from now on:mad:

That happened on my wife’s last new car! She took it to Walmart of all places for an oil change and when she picked it up there was 5 huge scratches on the drivers door. Looked like a set if keys attached to a guys belt loop done it. The car was maybe a couple months old. They of course denied any responsibility.

I do all oil changes now for her rides, too.

Yeah, I might forego any more free maintenance. I'd rather do it myself. The truck had only 2 tiny scratches going in. But, I can't prove it.

Yeah that’s a tough call for us. Give up three full years of free oil changes and maintenance in fear of scratches.

Did they wash it for you?
We got ours after a snow storm & they ran it through a brushed car wash & put 3 scratches in the same place on both front doors. I found it after next wash (handwash), told them & they buffed & waxed it.
    Still visible. Grr...
It is going in for Xpel on Monday. I trust them to fix it over some hourly car washer @ dealership.
Apparently the first 2 years of free maintenance is now worthless...

No wash because of my roof basket. I'm hoping it'll buff out. I'm thinking of ceramic coating, so maybe that'll hide it

    I am ceramic coating also.
I will let you know how it turns out.
I will try & get pics of scratches.
I only have camera on my phone so it may not pick them up.
One needed PDR before 100 miles! What...
I am silly excited to see the results & then my first wash results... I will review this expensive azz wrap
Most expensive upgrade to date & you cannot see it.
Wait, that is worth another 50 hp due to aerodynamics! LMAO

I have the ceramic coating on mine, and knock on wood, no scratches yet. I do have my first ding courtesy of a trash can lid flying through the air on a windy day.

I had mine professionally detailed and had them add the 7 year ceramic coating. I love it easy maintenance. If I didn't injure my back I would have detailed it myself.

How much did you pay for the ceramic coating? I'm debating whether to have it done professionally or buy a kit

I know you weren't asking me. But I made just shy of $1000 to have the paint corrected (remove swirl marks, etc.) and the coating with a 5 year warranty installed. (Paint, glass, and rims)

Not sure if you are asking me either.
However, because we are xpel wrapping & tinting the front windows the ceramic coating was an additional $550. Not sure if that is a combo price or not. All done over phone.
I will know more when we drop it off in the morning.

The detailing and ceramic coat including wheels was $650. The dealership was charging $1500 (not a Toyota dealer) so I just found the guy who does it and paid him cash. He only asked $450 but I tipped him because he did such a great job.

I started my ceramic coating today. Just did my hood since it was the first time. I think I may continue to do sections rather than the entire vehicle at once.
