Just a little sad and a bit pissed... had to drop my vehicle off last night to have my leaky shock removed and sent away for rebuild. Had them put on last May and it's been the sweetest ride since but how disappointing to spend that much on something that fails less than a year... I understand sometimes shit happens but daaaamn... someone needs to improve their QC.

Unfortunately it happens, especially with coil overs. It's no biggie though, I would recommend doing both of them since you did the one to keep them on the same interval.

I've heard this from a fair number of Icon buyers. But that's just internet forum complaining and the vast majority of folks could be very happy with their purchase. :notsure:

I don't hear this from King or Ads or Fox however.

@Large... Agreed.... except warranty will only cover the work for the one. Fortunately they only send it to Denver (45 min away) for the rebuild. So hopefully it doesn't take to long kinda sucks having the rig O.O.C...
@nimby... Also agree with you... typically you only hear when bad things happen not much when people are satisfied with their purchase. It's just a bit of a let down when you put a few extra bucks into your rig thinking you're getting what you pay for. If you look hard enough you can find issues with them all.

Sorry about your hassle. Hope your up and running soon. I have not seen too many issues with the high dollar shocks other than icon. I'd be curious what the failure numbers are among all the off road shocks. The folks out at Pismo probably have some horror stories. Maybe a poll would be cool.
I personally have 45k miles on my 5th gen Kings without issue. Probably needing a rebuild soon tho.....

I have zero experience with adjustable coil overs like king, Fox, etc and have fun OME on several Toyota’s.

Reading up on the rebuilding on the adjustable coil overs o think when I do go that route I’m going to have a set of OME sitting around to swap out so my 4R isn’t OOc until they are rebuilt.

This stuff is why I don't bother with rebuildables. I'm probably missing out on some performance but I'm already struggling with keeping up on the maintenance. Life is busy

Can't really go wrong with OME, I've had all and 95% of the people don't even use them to their potential, they just like the bling factor.

I have had good experience with OME on a few vehicles, Ironman also. Hate seeing this kind of stuff happen cuz none of these suspension goodies are cheap and should hold up better than they do IMO.
