I find the stock radio display way to bright. I have never been a fan of super nova illumination while driving at night. Yes, the setting are turned all the way down, but just like the instrument cluster its still way to annoying. Any ideas how to correct it? Not looking for a wiz bang techno ipad for the dash. Im toying with the idea of tinting the display, but not sure if it will effect the touch screen.

There's the dial knob on the left to adjust brightness of the gauges and it also works somewhat on the audio screen.

There is also a brightness control just for the audio screen that is in the 'display' folder.

You can also turn off the display entirely, which I do at night. Home -> settings -> display off

Another option is changing the display to a dark colored image which is more pleasing at night... although the image covers up the display rendering it useless until you hit a button (same as turning the display off).

Yep, way to much light in the cabin when driving at night.

You turned it all the way down in the head unit settings? That's an additional brightness setting than the small wheel to the left of the steering wheel.

I think there are both day and night settings in there, too. Set it once with headlights on and once with headlights off. Can anyone confirm this?

Correct. Both contrast and brightness all the way down.

That's why I'm toying with the idea of window tint. If touch screens work with protective covers then it should work with a bit of tint.

Our screens are different than phone screens, for example. It may work but it won't be as sensitive/precise with a cover.
