How exactly do you get that plastic shine like the factory? Is it possible to do aftermarket with just rattle cans ?

    This is whet I'd do.....
Go to a quality body shop and have them whip you up a factory color recipe. Just a little bit goes a long way, like less than 8oz. You can save for when you scratch the shit out of it but it won't flake off

Honestly don't even notice the bike back there. I've got the Toytec 2" springs in the back and they barely squat.

Rattle can will never look like factory. Personally I would taken it to a body shop and had it professionally painted and cleared.

But what's the fun in that. Atleast some of us try it so others can see what it looks like. Then they can go from there. If everyone thought that, we wouldn't mod our trucks just let someone else do it.
But ha each his own. But u have to fail to succeed.

It's been done, it fails every time, this is nothing new. When you know something doesn't work, trying it is not " lets see what happens " it's just a waste of time, money, and materials. I wrench on everything I own, no one touches my vehicles other than me so I get what you're saying and I agree for the most part but not this time. Even the best rattle can will never be the same quality, finish, durability, as body shop paint work.

Oh well such is life. Didn't see it posted here. And wasn't sure if a body shop would touch it as it is such a small piece. Oh well. I have a back up plan if the wet sanding and such doesn't work.

Someone on another forum had it done. Perfect color patch and finish match, looks OEM I believe he said it cost him $125.00 to have done which is well worth it IMO It's a new or newer truck that will be on the road for many years to come, may as well do it right. BTW the paint code for the OEM plastic panels is LR9V Diamond Black Metallic

Nice CBR. I've thought about this option so I didn't have to pull my 4x8 harborfreight or 6x10 enclosed trailer...when I had each of them at different times. Now I don't have a trailer and looking at options.

Is there a way to fit a pitbull restraint for the rear axle so the front forks don't have to be compressed?

Here's the link the the carrier. I'm extremely happy with it so far. I looked into the cheaper options but didn't like that the reviews constantly brought up flex and sway. The carrier I have is solid as a rock.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C5EYV9E/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks man. I'm not too familiar with those pitbull restraint systems but I assume you could fab something up to attach it to the trailer and then to the bike. Without having to do fab work and not having the forks compressed you could get the restraint system for the tires that cradles the tires from the top and attaches via ratchet straps, can't remember the name of the top of my head.

$100.00 should cover the total cost including gun. Great learning opportunity. Just my opinion. I too do all my own work but i've been a gear head for 45yrs so...

Tried googling the paint code. Shows up as a Bentley color code. Do you know where to get the paint? May go to body shop and see if they will do it.

It is a Bentley color, also used by VW and color matches perfectly. This is the best rattle can paint you can buy but still won't touch body shop paint.

I replaced the wheels and tires on my 2019 Limited, with 7x17 TRD wheels and Continental LT245/75/17 tires. Same size as the 20s, so no rubbing. Much heavier and offset is 4mm instead the the original 15mm, so don't know if I'm breaking anything without knowing it.

Why would you go with a 245/75/17? That's a smaller tire than the 4R came with from the factory. 265/70/17 is the stock size for the 4R with a 17" wheel. Either way, it likely looks silly but will absolutely not harm anything. Just a bad tire choice and drop in economy for no reason.

Okay, I guess I jumped into this forum with both feet. Actually the new tire-wheel combo is exactly the same width and height as the 20s (9.6 x 31.6). You're sure the extra width of the 265/70/17 doesn't rub the fender wall of the new Limited.

Nope, you'd be just fine. Other question I guess is why go with an LT tire with the added weight? We all do it when we're lifted just due to lack of options in bigger tires but there are a lot more options in the smaller tire world. The 245/75/17 measures out to roughly 31x9.65 The OEM 245/60/20 works out to a 32x9.65 You ultimately went with a shorter but heavier tire. It should have a wider stance with the Pro wheels which is a big improvement on the Limited trim. When it comes time for tires again, definitely look into another size.

I'm open to these suggestions. Continental allows one exchange within 60 days to any other Continental or General tire. So, I could get the Grabber ATX in that 265/70/17 size (44 lbs and 14/32" tread depth) or the Continental TerrainContact 265/70/17 (40.4 lbs and 12/32" tread depth)? The General has that "snowflake" rating. I had been thinking the LTs were more impervious to punctures, etc.
