    Hey
I am thinking of a fang light kit for my 2020 SR5 Premium 4 runner.
How hard to install and which kit has survived the test of time and sun and rain. Is it just cool or does it shed some light?
    Thanks
Hopefully this doesn’t go too wild :argue:

Are fang lights more susceptible to electrical issues for some reason? Reason I ask because I have a good amount of electrical mods with no electrical issues. I don’t have fang lights or plan on getting them.

I slept on this ... I imagine any electrical mod "can" cause issues (especially if you short something out by not knowing what you are doing).... risk/reward. I will say I love my 4runner with all the electrical mods I have done so far and prefer it much better than stock:
-Diode Dynamic LED replacement all lights (including DRL, Turn signals with External Resistors, SS3 PRO Fog Lights)
-Accessorides Remote Start with Takeover (interfaces with OEM wiring)
-Audio Upgrade (Replace all speakers, bypass Hatch to maintain 4 ohm load, interfaces with OEM Head unit). If I ever have a problem with the OEM head unit, I will replace it.
-DCM Bypass (pending to be installed)
-Anytime Camera (interfaces with OEM head unit)
-Hatch Speakers to Bluetooth custom Bluetooth Speaker (My Thread on this: https://www.4runners.com/threads/idea-battery-powered-hatch-speakers.45698/)

I'm also considering doing the "Ultimate Camping Mod" https://www.4runners.com/threads/ultimate-camping-mod-rear-window-up-down-4th-and-5th-gen.6424/

As you can see, electrical mods are my jam.

I have been comfortable with electrical mods in my vehicle even though it only has 8300 miles, but I have had experience doing electrical mods (although not the exact same as these) in past vehicles with no issues.

With this being said, anything done outside of OEM "can" cause issues. I have installed a GOBI rack and I know it's impacting gas mileage.

As far as the fang lights, I have heard reports of moisture getting into them as they aren't manufactured to the same standards as OEM. I imagine this could be minimized by modifying them with better sealant/silicone to keep moisture out, but I have no experience with this. To me, this is the same type of mod as Raptor lights and I know those are popular for some members.

    Good luck!

Do you have experience in wiring? If so, you shouldn't have any problems. I have added lights with zero issues.

Raptor lights can be insalled on any vehicle. Fang lights are 4Runner exclusive.

Too many to list & Worth every penny!
I also have added lights without electrical issues. Under the hood lights, grill lights, fang lights, & rigid back up lights…. All without issues.
Think your project through, be careful what circuit you use and load.
I always, always, always use fuses and a relay to trigger the added item.
The last thing you want is a short to go back to your ECU.
I know there are mods that direct you to to use your ING fuse circuit.
I stay clear of that one….. just me being cautious.
    YMMV

    Oooh look, another mod.....

It's a known fact that Fang Lights are the gay cousin of Raptor Lights.

It's well known installing lighting allows skynet in your truck and it turns into Christine. Duh!
