Yup. Throw something like this in the receiver for $30 and you have a pretty indestructible recovery point.

Touch up painting time! Last week I was behing a jack-ass dump truck driver who peppered my hood with about a dozen tiny rock chips, so I bought this:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DGY3MQVR?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

The color was spot-on. I didn't take a before picture to show the rock chips. And when I decided to take an after picture, I realized just how freakin' awesome I am and doing touch up paint work. Anyway, the $16 was money very well spent. If you have Barcelona red, get this paint pen. Perfect match!

Removed the factory rails and LFD X-bars. A TEMU $300 roof rack goes on tomorrow.

Does the TEMU rack require drilling into the roof for the front mounts?

Thanks for the feedback, glad you found something that will work for your needs. I went ahead and noted the 2 products that are no longer available. Both in the post above and in the knowledge sharing document.

Added the Taco Vinyl Pro replica grill and painted the letters bronze. I’m going to eventually get the OEM piece but this will do for now. Planning to get the black lower valence next.

Nope! The foot rests on that rubber roof line piece above the doors. :headbang: There is a sticky rubber pad for the front mount. Install is straight forward. I assembled the rack on the roof by myself. It was a PITA without some one to help. My arms don't contort like that any more. Most of the washers and nuts were installed by feel and a dab of grease on the fingertip. It would have been a lot easier with a 2nd set of hands. You could assemble it on the floor, then pick it up and mount it to the roof. It does seem pretty robust and doesn't have any sharp edges. It's more rack than I need. I sealed the bolt holes with 3M 08367 urethane seam sealer.

Why? Ya wanna buy 'em? I'm in southern Wisc. I have 5 x-bars (I bought an extra) and the fairing bar is plain black.

Installed this $300 no drill TEMU rack today. This thing is built solid. Weighs 66#. Very happy. There's plenty of clearance for the hatch and shark fin.

    Um, kinda sorta?
Actually, I’m just interested in the mounts, but not the bars. (Yes, I realize you’d likely have a tougher time selling the bars without the mounts, however.)

I’m halfway ready to machine a set of mounts myself, but if somebody had a set they were parting with then I’d consider buying.

Don’t worry it’s an easy and common repair to replace a caliper. For some reason the 4Runner calipers freeze up quickly.

No dash cams to prove he dod it? I had a truck hauling mulch without it being covered, the business owner refused to pay for clean up until I showed him the video.

Borla exhaust, Jet MAF sensor, K&N filter, Hayden rapid cool transmission cooler, Hella horns, electric fan, Pedal Commander, Derale power steering cooler,
Turned off Pedal Commander, replaced K&N with regular air filter and I like the throttle response and transmission up shifts and downshifts better. Got more CELs in two days without than two weeks with PC connected. Cruise control pulls with 33s better and less downshifting. If that's even possible. I can gradually apply throttle and it pulls without downshifting to easily. I do love the way you can shift gears using the brake or throttle in these. I'm almost back to 18mpg.

Replaced DRL/signal light bulbs with LEDs that finally work in my 2013 4runner. They worked without resistors, but would hyper flash 2-3 times first then work normally. I had some Philips 21W 10ohm canbus adapters and everything works perfectly now. Well worth it on the markers since they are such a chore. DRLs have an actual beam now. I restored my headlights with Turtle Wax kit and installed some middle range Silverstar HID bulbs and I get lit up now on dim.

I do. But the rocks did not come from inside the dump bed. They came from the ground. I should have clarified that. Sorry. He was driving and because his rig was so heavy, it kicked up a lot of tiny rocks.

That is why I try to avoid or stay far behind dump trucks (rock flew out from the bed and made a big dent in my hood), trash trucks (garbage flew out and made a sticky mess on the entire hood and grill), and horse trailers (horse pee sprayed all over outside and inside, had to spend $400 for detailing to get the smell out). At the time, I did not have a dash cam (I don't know if the dash cam footage would have helped me).

    Update to this lol.

drove to work and the caliper is more than just sticking. It sounds like 2 stones scraped together and a rumble to a complete lock up on the LF tire. Also has a nice clunky rattle in the area too.

tech takes it and has a wow whats going on look. So im thinking the worst now. Turns out that both caliper bolts were loose where one fell out the other was hanging out and hitting wheel causing the lockup. Got a nice scratch all around the inside of the rim now. At least it was an easy fix.

Sorry to hear about these pebble chips Borracho.

Those guys are always moving in the summer up here in MI. I drive like an 80 yo and stay way back now if possible. Or if on interstate wait till I good a clearing and go to left lane and get up to 80 or so to pass. They are tough to avoid.

This 4R I have Xpel ppf but have not put it to the test.

OEM one is a waste of money IMO. I've had mine on for 3 1/2 years and it's held up wonderfully. And I think mine came from EBAY for under $100. So, I'm guessing yours is better quality than mine.
