Took me almost 4 years, but I’m happy to say that my build almost complete! So I figured that I’d start posting my build.
    (I’ll keep the notes short)

I only do trails with an OnX difficulty rating of 7 or lower.

The vision I have is just a OEM+ vibe. Clean, subtle, and capable.

I consider this a ‘budget’ build since I got everything on sale, or used for a great deal over the past 4 years.

    2021 Venture Edition Build
    Necessary

    1. Suspension - Icon 2.5” diameter shocks w/ remote reservoir, UCA’s, icon rear springs (2.5” front lift, 2” lift rear), lower trail arms, adjustable track bar
      • Why the shocks w/ resi? I live in a hot desert. Hot desert + summer heat = ‘shock fade’
      • Why UCA’s? Alignment. Good alignment = better tire fitment, better ride
      • Why not 3” lift? Better down travel for desert terrain
      • Why Icon? Got new for a sweet deal
    2. Wheels&Tires - TRD wheels with BFG Ko2 AT 285/70R17
      • I like OEM wheels. Already equipped with them.
      • Light weight AT tire and still tough enough for the trails I do
      • Biggest tire size with minimal adjustments
    3. Armor - TRD/C4 Skid plates & RSG Rock Sliders w/ kick out
      • Already had TRD front skid. C4 has rear skids that integrate with the TRD skid. Didn’t want to pay shipping for RCI
      • Needed a step for my daughter, more clearance than drop steps, more protection
      • I personally think there are better slider options than RSG, but I picked these up used for cheap
    Optional stuff I didn’t need
    1. C4 Lo Pro Winch Bumper (waiting for powder coat before install), 30” S8 light bar, winch
      • More armor, subtle, looks OEM+
      • S8 has the amber backlight
      • Didn’t want empty spots on the bumper
      • Labor Day Sale
    2. Cali raised rear Molle panels with top shelf
      • More storage
      • Top shelf isn’t ’in the way’ for bigger items
      • Magnetic
      • Found used for cheap
    3. Baja Designs Squadron Sport ditch lights
      • I personally don’t like ditch lights, but I got them as a gift
    4. Baja Designs S8 40” combo light bar
      • Got this used for cheap
      • Don’t know how/where to mount it
    Accessories
    1. LasFIT x4 dual air compressor with 4way hose
    2. Recovery straps, d links, recovery board
      • Was told I needed to have it ‘just in-case’
      • Still never used them
    3. Yakima Megawarrior Basket
      • Came with the Venture Editions
      • Got the 22” extension
      • On sale $50 off
    4. 8ft ARB Touring awning
      • Got it as a gift
    5. LP Adventure Awning brackets for Yakima Baskets
      • Purchased to use the awning
      • Had to pay $40 shipping/import fees for a $40 part
Excited to stop looking for 4Runner parts soon!

C4 bumper should be done with powder coat next week.

Once I get the bumper, light bar, winch, and awning installed.. I AM DONE!! :D

Love that color. Is it more orange or red? Not typically a fan of red, but yours is nice and bright.
