Stiffer side walls on off road tires will no doubt help too and compensate for some of the lost droop.

Good to know, thanks, sucks to hear bout the taco. 150k miles is quite good, surely my 5100’s won’t last that long.
I put on ome 3” front springs 4 years/50,000 kms ago in 2021. They did kinda noticeably sag in the front after a good 3 years. But the rear ICON’s and the fronts overall have been surprisingly consistent. I’d be interested to throw new ones in or see someone’s fresh measurements compared to mine:

You don’t need a new suspension to change tires.

I can't imagine someone with aftermarket suspension doesn't swap out the stock all seasons for something more meaty.:notsure:

The arguments for keeping the 4Runner stock are the same arguments for getting rid of the 4Runner in favor of a Highlander or Sienna.

    I do like this setup.

And now you’re only a quick painless bmc away from 35’s stuffing in there!

i think he is 2" lift up front and 1" lift in the back off memory
this should give about 3/4" of rake, meaning the rear is about 3/4" higher than the front

    AND:
    viper cut
moderate inner fender and fender flare trimming
    windshield washer tank relocate
tire swing out or roof rack for a spare
a loss of 15-19% of your fuel mileage
    what am i forgetting?

Nope. A minivan is better in all the aspects that favor not lifting your 4Runner. If you buy a 4Runner just to keep it on pavement, it's a vanity purchase to look cool. Therefore lifting it and putting bigger tires on it for looks is along the same vein.

Without significantly taller tires, one's rear diff still has the same clearance as stock. Lift kits don't raise the knuckles and rear axle.

True. But, it improves approach, departure, and break-over angles. ;)

They just look better to me and allow me to fit sweet meats under the fenders without rubbing

I like big tires and i can not lie
All you other brothers try to deny
That when a truck drives by with a really nice stance
And big round tires in your face, you get sprung
Wanna pull up tough 'cause you notice that tire was stuffed
Deep in the seats hes drivin'
    I'm hooked and I can't stop starin'
Oh, baby, I wanna get wit'cha
    And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But those big tires you got makes (me so horn**!)

Most minivans have probably done the same amount of off-roading as most lifted 4Runners. None.

    True facts.

You could add Jeeps, and any other 4×4 to that list, as well.

You should see all the jeeps around here with their big tires and angry grilles dropping their kids off at school. :D

This is binary thinking. There are multitude of circumstances and driving conditions between rock or mud crawling your lifted rig and highway driving on a clear summer day.

More so, nobody (and that includes minivan drivers) purchases solely based on utility. There is always some aspect of vanity, or you wouldn't see new Siennas selling for almost 60K and instead most would drive a version of Astrovan.

This is starting to sound like a "do you like big titties" argument.
