    Was caught in a fender bender last week but was able to isolate damage to the drivers side. Took the bumper off to get a better view and it looks like the bumpers frame was able to absorb most of the hit and no damage to main. Thinking maybe a cut and splice behind the connection plate here? Assuming any aftermarket replacement bumpers will need a clean connection plate?

    Hoping the experts in these forums can give me some advice or expectations going into the discussion with auto repair teams. - thanks in advance.

    Unbolt the crash bar and straighten the flange with a huge monkey wrench or channel lock pliers.

    A really uptight shop may refuse to do the work and say you need a new frame, which would often total the vehicle.
