I just had my baby and we are getting her used to road trips! My husband has an MBRP exhaust on his 5.0 F150 that lulls her (and me) to sleep. My 4R has an aftermarket exhaust too, it's the Flomaster Outlaw Extreme. It sounds good around town and ripping up snow and sand, but good lord does it drone on the highway, and having slight exhaust leaks from rust do not help. Like after a 3 hour trip, our hearing sounds like underwater :lalala:Makes us wonder what it would do to a baby lol. Any reccomendations on aftermarket cat-backs that aren't as loud/droney and less than $4-500??

I'm looking at the R4T high clearance or the Magnaflow (over your budget) high clearance. There's also Gibson but I am trying to ditch the longer tailpipe.

Yeah mine is short that dumps right below the rear passenger seat, i worry about the fumes getting in the cab now that I have my daughter back there :/ plus when I have my rear window down and if I'm accelerating a little hard, I can smell it ! Just a warning if you get a short exhaust. I never smelled it with the stock one

The Borla Pro XS is NICE and deep and doesnt have a drone.
Watched hours and hours of videos of them before purchasing muffler for my tundra. Its not loud at all and has practically no drone. This is one of the best mufflers on the market in my opinion.

I have the afe mach force xp and its hardly louder than stock. Zero drone. I also bought it with the intention of making the car louder like my other vehicle to get the baby to fall asleep easier. Did not do the trick.

Haha my silly self got this exhaust long before I got pregnant! I just like when people recognize me when I pull up. Plus it's easier for me to tell if the remote start worked. Honestly we tried to have a baby for so long that we pretty much gave up and accepted it. Then found out last year *A MONTH* after buying our first house lmao!!

Does the R4T solve the crossover pipe part getting banged up? I'm assuming no.

Lots of post about noise with ANY aftermarket exhausts. I would look fo a take off stock exhaust as many owners want the extra sound. Their old removed parts is what you want!

If you want to get rid of the drone, you need an OEM take off muffler (NON TRD) and weld it back into your system. Run your exhaust out behind the wheel (side exit) and that’ll resolve your drone and exhaust emissions coming into your T4R while the rear window is down.

I understand the TRD drone is bad for some but not for others. Seems like the drone does NOT play well considering your situation.

I have a Borla Touring cat back. I like it better than the TRD exhaust myself. I bought the Touring by accident, but it's not intrusive and droning.
