Baby on the way? You poor bastard.......you're gonna go broke buying diapers non stop. Heck, you may have to sell the 4Runner to pay for the diaper & formula habit! Pro Tip: Buy in MASSIVE bulk. That way you're not making a constant trip to the store.

Congratulations on the baby and the 2024 4runner. The other day I parked next to a Underground and it looked so good vs my magnetic grey metallic. Nice choice.

As for the diapers I would say don't buy too much. The biggest box at Sam's or Costco should be enough. I found that babies grow fast and having to change diaper size unexpectedly.

Formula is good to buy in large quantities if the expire date are not too close. I've had traveled like 1hour when the brand my baby was using when out of stock. That time only 2 cases were allowed to purchase at a given time.

Adaptive cruise control has its place, I95 is definitely not one of them. I travel I95 way to often and its Russian Roulette. Now traveling Montana, N/S Dakota Wyoming, those areas its a great to have.

    Congrats on the +1

+1 and congrats on arriving safely. I like certain features about it, such as traffic suddenly stopping. I hate how the speed change is like a light switch and startling. I guess you can't have it both ways;-)

Do you feel the edges/back of the door handle cover when you open it? I imagine it's just a clip on cover over the face of the handle?

I have had these installed on my 4Runner for almost 2yrs now. Until I saw this post, I actually forgot I had them installed. You don’t even feel them when they are on.

I felt them maybe the first week and then haven't noticed since. They look soooo much better than the chrome handles.

Well this is a first for me. Vinyl protectant on CV Boots. Is this for the harsh environment or for the looks?

133K on them and they're kind of hard. Did some searching and found out it's a thing. Just trying to soften them up a little.

I just did this for the first time in my 4runner as well (I've always just used a tent).

Well, I found myself on a solo overnight trip and decided to crash in the back.

    Here's what I've learned.....

Don't bother building a platform. Just put two 3ft 2x4's down in the low area and a place a piece of 3/4" plywood cut to roughly 3'x3' (or whatever fits back there) on top. It's stable and it levels things out perfectly.

Also a twin sized air mattress fits really well if you air it down slightly. Get one of the thicker ones that are roughly the same thickness as a normal mattress and just don't blow it up as much. If you don't mind the waterbed affect, it will squish into place.

You state not to bother with a platform, then you explain how you built your platform. o_O

I made my platform the same as yours. It does work very well.

Big congrats to you on the wife and baby on the way, that’s a great moment in time and an underrated accomplishment (even if you already have kids). Young men should be trying their hardest to find a decent woman (look in the mirror you ain’t as good as you think you are) get married and have children if she blesses you with the ability. Your grandparents and parents sacrificed priceless time, energy and money for you to be able to lay on ur couch enjoying YouTube on a smart phone, don’t willingly break the chain like an a-hole LOL. *rant over

Sick 4R you guy scored, not easy to do, bet that will hold value.

    New battery.
At the service battery load test failed. Denied the battery replacement, ran to Walmart and bought my top choice battery.

    Minor note-
Walmart person tried to give me 1/25 dated battery. I showed him the newer dated 7/25 battery and kindly asked to give me one of the newer batteries.

    Yes sir, It's 24F.
Ground terminal towards driver side and positive towards passenger side.
    20250812_195654.jpg

4yr warranty AGM seems a better deal but I didn't want to change my charging system to charge AGM battery or risk charging AGM without a booster.
