Oil filter replacement with KDSS

    Does anyone know how to remove the oil filter with 4runner that has a KDSS?

    It's no different than a non KDSS Runner. Remove the "skids" and use a Motivix tool.

    Make sure your removing the oil filter n not an actual KDSS component

    side note: don’t bring up KDSS hate or this is headed further south than we already are

    KDSS oil has a filter? I thought the oil just leaks out from the shaft seals?

    KDSS 4Rs have 2 oil filters, 1 in the front and 1 in the back. They're connected by oil lines along the frame rail. You drain them by opening the accumulator valves.

    Don't try this at home.

    I dont change the oil filter because the skid plate is too heavy and I dont have anyone to help me raise it back up

    you have to change the filter, cant use the old one over and over.

    We’re not being smart asses. Changing the oil filter has not changed in procedure since 2010 no matter trim level or kdss vs non kdss.
