    Greetings all!

41 year old swm, ddf....oh wait wrong forum.

Just bought my first 4x4 ever. A 2018 4Runner SR5 Premium with just over 3k miles on it. They used it as a loaner for a few months and striped all the extras that came with it. Which really was only the R6 running boards. That's okay though as I want to black out most of this rig if I can with an accent color on some of the trim pieces.

I'll never use this thing for any crazy off road stuff so my mods will mostly be for looks.

Weather has been crap here lately in KC. Have only been able to wash it once since I got it and the next day it was dirty again from all melting snow. Looks like it may be a couple weeks before I can wash it again as it seems like there is snow or rain in the forecast every other day. I'll just have to be patient as I don't want to throw any of the mods/parts I already bought on until it's clean. I figure I'm patient as it took me about 10 months to research every vehicle out there before I chose (not settled) for this.

Here's what I bought so far:

    • iBoard matte black running boards
    • Hood and side window deflectors
    • Black exhaust tip

    To do list:
    • TRD Pro hood swap
    • bull bar
    • led swap
    • Black rims (Like the TRD but want to keep the Toyota logo - may have to get creative with some filler and cadcut some vinyl)
    • Tint the two front windows
    • Speaker upgrades
    • 12 Volt Solutions plug and play remote start
    • Backup sensors (honestly I just miss the beep beep beep when backing up...I'm confident in my ability to do this just not in any hurry to drill holes into my new bumper and splice into the back up lights)
    • Blacked out badges/roof rack/d-rings possibly coated in a dark royal blue pearl coated plasti dip for an accent color
    • Hoping someone will start selling an auto folding mirror mod..it fits in the garage but barely

...but I need to slow my roll as I haven't even made my first payment yet. It's just exciting to have something I can customize for my own enjoyment. The old Lincoln MKZ didn't really offer me much in that department. I barely even average 7k miles a year so my goal is to have it paid off before 40k miles and keep it until 2038 when I die from a Viagra overdose.

I just hope I don't run into anything and give any of the mods Peyronie's disease.

    Welcome!

I'm a Tigers fan so we should have plenty to talk about in a couple of months. My son and I caught a Royals game in KC a few years back on fathers day. Camped at a state park there the night before. It was 102 degrees at 2 in the morning! We didn't get much sleep. Had a blast at the game though. Unfortunately they got beat by the stinking Red Sox.

Ah yes the Red Sox...I live 20 minutes from Fenway and maybe 40 minutes to Gillette Stadium. The only good thing about these crappy New England winters. :oldglory:

Well unfortunately I think we're both going to be talking about how it feels to be at the bottom of the division. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the K. Most of us are pretty nice to those from out of town unless they are from St. Louis...haha.

Had a break in the weather today. Winter returns tomorrow afternoon. So took it to three car washes. First one was out of order when I got there. The second one broke down right as I was the next person to pay with about 30 cars behind me and they had to heard us all out the narrow turn around. The third one got me home an hour later than I wanted to be as I decided I was going to throw the boards on tonight. Took about an hour and finished up in the dark wearing my forehead flashlight. Went to the dealer after I finished up to pick up my title and they let me pull into the service garage to take some pics. I'm not sure how I feel about them. I'm going to take the iBoard logo off of there if I keep them. Have a feeling they are going to warp they seemed really thin. I might be ripping them off and returning.

    I got the 6" iBoards.

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/2010-201...-Extensions-6-Matte-Black-iRunning-B/55450013

Still have them on because it's just been crappy weather ever since I threw them on. I've got until the first of May to return them which I think I am going to as soon as I get a Saturday with no snow or rain. They are okay but they are pretty thin in my opinion. If you put pressure on the edges they seem to give more than I'm comfortable with. I just think after a couple years on the truck they are going to warp.

I like these better even though they are only 5". Just look beefier and like they will hold up.

Great. I should do that. But I’m currently eyeing the SSO rock slider. I shouldn’t do it. But they do look cool. I think I’m ording their rack so the bars seemed like the only way to go.

I'll never have need for sliders. They are cool but the extra weight they add just didn't seem worth it for me. Just want some solid steps that will hold up over time and allow my elderly mother to get in on the rare occasion she goes out. I am thinking these will do the job. The iBoards were thin and moved too much on the edges for my liking when standing on them.

Thanks bud I've lived out here my whole life I'll always be an Olathe boy even though I've lived about 15-20 minutes north since 2002....not sure I am really the new guy any more on here though. Pretty sure my luster has worn off by now..haha

After this winter it's pot hole central everywhere around here. I35 north from Olathe to 95th street is crumbling. Dude I work with bent a rim a couple days ago. I don't really play the stock market but it might be a good year to invest in asphalt manufacturers.
