    • Take your time
    • research
    • List out the options you want, can live without, and can add later on. The only thing that really separates these 5th Gens are parts from what I can gather. You can save money with an SR5 and you might be able to negotiate some better rims, running boards, blacked out badging kit, 5 years worth of oil changes/tire rotations/air filters...etc
    • Always take the advice from strangers on the internet
    • Shop around and keep shopping. You'll know when you find a good deal...so will the person selling you the car. Consider one of their loaners that has 5k or less miles on it and will save you $5k off the new price. If they don't have one, they will eventually, or someone else will. Loaners aren't rental cars, way less to be worried about.
    • List out your questions, the things you want to negotiate, and bring the list with you because you're going to forget stuff.
    • Since you're wanting a 2019 you're obviously not really looking for used, but if you decide to go used stay local. Last thing you want to do is fly half way across the country only to find out the person who owned it before you smoked like a chimney and left burn holes all over the place.
    • Get underneath it and tap the frame with a flash light. It will impress the sales person....hey this guy really knows his stuff.
    • Don't stress out..it's a thing...things are replaceable and there are things all over the place from what I've found. IF one thing doesn't work out, another thing just might.
    • Figure out where you want to be monthly payment wise. Don't forget to figure in sales tax, and registration costs. Subtract your down payment and/or trade value from that to get your loan value.
    • Figure out your financing and interest rate before you show up. That way you know what your payment is going to be. Credit unions usually have competitive rates to the larger banks, but either way there are chances the dealer already works with the lender you want to use.
    • Remember the new 2020's come out in August and they are going to have the new head units with Apple Car Play/Android Auto..Tacos are going to have powered and heated leather seats....this is where taking your time might come in handy.
    • Follow your gut and trust your instincts.
    • Read customer reviews of the dealers online.
    • Use bullets in your posts.
    • Watch at least 20 hours of YouTube videos about 5th gen 4Runners
    • Find out ASAP from the start what the drive it off the lot price is. Don't get suckered punched with unreasonable dealer fees and add on's you don't need. Remember 2 years of total care comes standard. If you buy a 5 year service plan then you're really only getting 3.
    • Make sure it's going to fit where you want to park it. I had a coworker drive his to my house during lunch and pull it in my garage. I bought mine the very next day.
    • Go for it and don't dry hump it until you've got the keys and you're on your own property. I'm banned from all Hendrick dealerships nationwide.

I just bought a 2018 4Runner sr5 .The way I negotiate is I do research on vehicle .search cargurus prices ,eBay and Craigslist. This will narrow down costs .Once you figure out what cost you want spend then options that fit in it.If you have a trade try to get a purchase over phone .most my deals are worked out before I get there .I don’t want play games back and forth .aif it’s a new vehicle you are buying don’t think you still can’t get price lower .I would say on the minimum a new vehicle purchase you can get it $1,500 under what they say they will sell it.The 4Runner is kind a a tuff negotiation becuase you see 3 year old 4runners used selling still 26-32 grand .Sometimes you just have to see the value in comparison to other vehicles and bite the bullet .Im happy with my purchase .I will tell you my deal.I treaded in a 2016 Lexus is200t I got 19,000 on trade.I then had a panerai wAtch Pam 320 I got $4,000 on it towards trade. So I had $23,000 towards purchase and tax credit. The vehicle was $31,900 I felt it was a good price on a 18 that has 29,000 miles on it.so the difference was $10,5000 I paid that and no car payment done.I have owned 40 vehicles so been around .I worked 5 dealerships too as car sales .Hope this helps you .

Prices depend on regional demand to an extent. In San Diego, demand is pretty high for the 4Runner and from this, prices are high as well. I know because I live in SD and was shopping around for the best deal I could find. A 2018 SR5P 4x4 was listed for $39,000 at most places in SD. Maybe I could have gotten them down to $37,000, but the dealerships that I tried were not interested in dealing because they knew someone else would come in and pay full price.

Arizona had much better prices on 4Runners than SD. I ended up getting my truck for $34,000. It was well worth the extra time, the one way plane ticket out there, and the full tank of gas it took to drive home. You'll have to jump through a few hoops to get it registered in CA, but all in all, I saved a ton of money by buying out of state.

It ordered mine at a cost of 700 under invoice cost one dealership I was talking to offered to match that price and drive the vehicle to my house so I would not be inconvenienced by having to drive 45 minutes out of my way. Dealerships are very receptive if you know what you want and let them know you are working with other salespeople at other Toyota dealerships. It took 2 e mails and a few phone calls. Easy as pie. Great experience. Good vibes all around.

I got my premium for $39.7k before tax with kdss no sunroof or other addons. This seemed to be pretty good in the Seattle area. I contacted some AZ dealerships and got online quotes and used those to bargain with. Good luck!

Nice mine just the base sr5 4x4 .I would like the comfort acces ,heated seats ,heated steering wheel ,turn signal on mirrors with warning ,front parking sensors ,a Bose stereo and brake warning light.but I look at it this way less things to go wrong with it .I like the feel the 4Runner .I guess Toyota has the land cruiser for there top line or there lexuses .Im happy for now .No car payment a vehicle that I feel will handle any weather or road conditions.Simple engine to work on .Low maintenance cost .Long life engine .The limited has a lot the comfort features .Indont like chrome parts or 20 “ rims .I know from experience thinner tire more performance.Im pretty impressed the 4Runner with the big tires feels great .There definitely some great things about the Yukon I sold but I’m positive the 4Runner will last double it’s life span.

Hmmm I can't speak for the Seattle area I'm in Mass but I got my '18 Premium with a sunroof and Nav and was under 39K perhaps location does matter.

I paid invoice for an off-road premium in Phoenix. After TTL, less than 41k. You could possibly fly here, do the same, and be in a better position than paying California pricing.

PM me if you wanna get in contact with my guy at the dealer.

I would 100% wait for the 2020s to come out in August. The head unit in the 2019 is crap, old and outdated. Wait for 2020 when it gets a tech update finally.

Because someone messaged me, I wanted to add in some more information for public knowledge.

I no longer trust any salesman. More than one have lied to me at the dealer and screwed me on referral payouts. Even sent in a good friend to buy a new tundra with MY sales guy and never got credit. What a sham.

Anyway, I bought mine at Right Toyota and a SD resident bought from Earnhardt Toyota. He paid a little more but seemed to be an easy process. Do your research. Find out what invoice pricing is and basically say “this is what I want to pay”. Invoice pricing still allows them to make a little bit of money so it’s not completely ridiculous.

Because I don’t give a shit about Right, here’s my paperwork so you get a rough idea. I miss living in SC where tax is maxed out at $500. This is OTD before down payment.

We paid 39.5 for our 2019 TRD premium, and that was with sunroof, predator tube steps, the wilderness package that included all weather floor mats, and a few extra addons.

I’m also trying to purchase a new 2019 SR5 Premium to replace the 2008 SR5 with 215k miles on it. Best pricing I’ve been able to get in Minnesota is right around $36.1k for the SR5 Premium 4WD with sun/moon roof. Can’t seem to get any dealers to go below $36k.

Any insight as to whether this is a decent price? The 08 isn’t going to be traded in. The boyfriend is taking it to drive, since he does all of the maintenance on it anyway.

    Thanks for any insights.

That’s pretty much what I paid for my 2017 SR5 Premium without sunroof. I know price varies by region. Good luck.

I recently purchased a 2109 ORP w/ KDSS, Sunroof, TRD wheels, Wilderness package (rack bars, all weather mats) and cargo cover for $39,000 + ttl. This was in Northern California.

I found out exactly what I wanted and emailed every dealer within ~50 miles for their best price. From there, I took the lowest price and asked the dealers to beat it - once I got to the lowest price (and dealers hated me), I took that lowest price to my local dealer - and told them that I would come in today and buy it if they could do the deal. If they had said no, I would have worked my way out further from my home w/ that lowest number until someone close matched it. Dealers are itching to get the 2019s off the lot with the 2020's coming in and you'll probably be able to get a better deal than me if you put in the work!

I read somewhere that about 4K below MSRP is usually the best they'll do. Of course there will be exceptions.

My TRD off road premium was $38.6K +TTL. MSRP was around $42.5K. They also gave me about $3K over blue book for my Tacoma.
