Spent a great day at the track today. Anyone else Moto?

Very nice! I also have a '14 Suzuki Vstrom 1000. Not near the beast you have there. I would get in trouble on that.

 

I need five grand to get this VRod in storage!!!

We are an off road Enduro family. This is my daughter and I after a race in Texas in March She went on to take 2nd O/A Open B in the Rocky Mountain Enduro Circuit for the season. The whole family rides and I am 3rd generation addicted to Moto.

 

I wish mine ran! Do I spend money on the 4Runner that i use to tow the bike to the trails? Or do I use the money to just fix the dirtbike and ignore the 4runner?

 

Moto on hold for me for a few weeks. Decided to give myself an early birthday present...A ride in an ambulance. Dislocated my shoulder. Was the most pain I have ever experienced. It took over 2.5 hours to get out of the woods to the hospital. They gave me 10mg of morphine IV and 50 of fentanyl IV and it didn't touch the pain. Had a good buzz though. As soon as the shoulder was back in, instant pain relief..

It was horrible conditions. Lots of mud and 22 degrees. I think I hit some icy mud while on a very hard pack off camber section. I was in a controlled two wheel drift and then WHAM! No warning and instant pain. Good times! An now I'm getting fat.

 

Thanks for asking. I hope so. It's been a couple weeks. I am going to keep rehabbing it for another 4 weeks and then if it's not better I may have to go see a surgeon.

I messed up my elbow on a bicycle trying to show my daughter how to jump. I’ll ride but I will not moto. I’m apparently to old for that shit now.

Thats funny, it always happens when you are trying to be cool to the kids. I can't tell you how many times I have hurt myself showing off to my kids. As far as moto goes..Never too old. I know a 72 and a 74 year old that still ride. Talk about inspiration.

I've had multiple crashes while doing track days and several trips to the ER. Unfortunately, with our hobby where we keep pushing our personal limits, it's more a question of when, not if, we get hurt.

But track-day motorcycling is one of the purest experiences I get to have and the feeling it gives me is very addicting, so I understand if you want to get back on the bike really bad to apply lessons learned.

No it was very strange and thats why I think I hit an icy spot. It was an off camber hard pack corner with about a 1/4" of mud on top. Came around the corner and was maybe going 10mph. Then the bike went into a two wheel drift, I was standing on the pegs at the time. I started to lower down on to the seat and WHAM, got slammed into the ground, low side. It was very sudden with no warning and my arm naturally went out. POP. Dam that hurt. Hit so hard the foot peg left a 3 inch crater. Just a freak no warning accident.

This was at a ride park and we were not on a track at the time. The place had experienced massive amounts of rain and conditions were very poor with mud and water. On top of that it was 22 degrees out. We probably should have called it but had already rode in these conditions for two days in a row, this was the last day of riding and the trip had been planned for months.

 

Sounds like there are different factors that could have caused the crash. I hope everything heals up to 100% and the bike ends up with shiny new parts.

 

I've had enough of snow....I can't wait to ride this again.

Thanks. It's the Street Triple 765R. Smaller motor but enough torque to get me in trouble.

 

Yeah that's plenty. I wouldn't have any trouble getting stupid on that thing. Sweet bike.

 

Went to FLA to a friend's house to get my suspension put on...stopped off at this race on the way. It was hot as f! Had a blast!

 

We may be brothers from another mother, what with the 4Runner, DL1000 with Wolfman bag... I have a 250 Yam also but I don't go flying with it.... sorry bout the biff.

 

Great minds think a like!! But...I ended up trading the Strom in on a 2019 Honda 450L. I do have all my accessories I took off of the Vstrom that I need to get up for sale. Have to get that done soon. If you are interested I can send you a list of what I have for sale.
