Spent 8 days running the Oregon BDR with my son. It was a great trip, lots of different scenery, and not a lot of people especially in the first three sections of the route. We only saw 2 groups of 4 adventure motorcyclist on the trial through the first 3 sections. Had some stunning sunsets and sunrises. Shared a lake with a herd of antelope one night and went swimming with frogs in the cascades.

Not exactly scenic, but pretty peaceful.

Awesome pics, I'm guessing the dried lake bed is at Alvord? Alvord flooded earlier this year and a few people camping woke up to 3" of water throughout the south end of the lakebed. lol How was the route, did you have to by-pass any single track sections that are impassible with the 4R? @OdyRunner

I was checking out your photo album; what's going on with the rebuild, looks like your gutted the interior and re-wired. Do you have a post with the details anywhere?

No it’s Coyote Lake which is east of Alvord playa but we did run into some muddy roads, and we saw some water on a couple of the other playas. We cut off just north of the Alvord playa and went to Mickey Hot Springs, camped on the coyote lake playa before soaking in Willow Hot Springs the following morning. The Oregon BDR doesn’t have any single track and we didn’t have any issues running it in the 4Runner, even the alternative harder routes didn’t pose any real problems. Lot’s of new pin stripping and left a little bit of paint from the skid plates on a boulder, but nothing to technical. The OBDR is significantly rougher than the Washington BDR as well as being more technical and I don’t think I would take a stock 4Runner up Cache Mountain but the rest of it could be run in a stock rig.

Did a first 1000 meters of elevation with the 4Runner and another 1000 on foot.

Still in the fog and mud in the morning (not so scenic).
The Ford next to it doesn't make it any better either :p;).

The scene is always a matter of perspective, very small 4Runner down there

"Hiking trail" below the rocks on the right side and barely visible in the center of the picture.

After the challenging hike, I appreciate the 4Runner even more for the rest of the way home.
