2022 T4R Suspect Rear passenger lean

Hello Everyone,

Concluded there is a Rear Lean on my 2022 TRD Sports. It’s got the XREAS

At first, I thought it was the previous tire not grounded well.

After changing ties. Had another rear passenger tire spin.

Seems springs on one side taller (maybe).

Took it to local dealership. The CS rep noticed the lean too but wanted Upfront payment before taking it in.

So am planning to take it to my regular dealer.

Anyone else noticed and resolved at dealership.

Practical Solutions and TSB before taking truck in for diagnosis this month.

I have the full Toyota extended warranty.

 

If it’s under warranty why would the healer ask for money up front?

Local Toyota CS says --- "In case Toyota refuse to cover cost"

 

Yeah that’s BS.

 

^BS but common. The technician doesn't work for free. The dealer will charge ~$120 to diagnose, and it becomes an out of pocket expense if the dealer determines it isn't covered by warranty.

 

Times have definitely changed.

Wow... Sometimes bill for 6 hours and cant reproduce Issues

 

Swap springs in the driveway from left to right and see if the lean follows. Easy job.

 

A driver side lean far is more common because of the gas tank and driver.

 

Any dealership known corrective solutions? The rear passenger wheels spins independently in 2WD - slopes/curves

 

Save your time and money its not going to be under warranty.

I bet they take you outside to other 4Runners and its the same.

 

I voided so much of my warranty shortly after purchase. I wouldn't know about any TSB's or dealership info, just things I have seen on the trail or my buddy's shop.

The tires shouldn't be doing that, I throw mine into corners so hard on pavement it'll lift a front inside tire. How is your tread wear?

 

Hmm. The tire is new. I replaced the OEM tires already (thinking it was the tires at fault). Toyo OC AT3

The CS Rep himself noticed the lean.

Unfortunately, you were all correct.
Two separate dealership visit - Tech comes back - "Can't reproduce".

Its funny that the Service desk CS can see the lean before write-up.
Probably no TSB to follow.

However, Alignments and other corrective measures were taken. Tires also rotated etc. Paid out of pockets for 4WD Alignment and Rotations.

Lean hardly visible now. Happy
