Finally got to the rear brakes today after doing a transmission drain and fill. At least 103k on these pads. 133,550 miles on my 4Runner. Front brakes going on as soon as front rotors come in. Went with all Toyota OEM parts. IMG_6378.jpg

Why the need for brighter license plate lights?

Midnight run to the desert it was a moonless night. Black is coal That is the sky full of stars. Just amazing not the best image but captured on my iPhone and this is part of a mine where I set up my camp on top it was a great day of exploring and off roading got home very happy jumped in the shower and when I came out, I tripped and fell. Ended up in the emergency room with a very bad sprained strained shoulder. Something popped, but I’m doing better now grateful it didn’t happen out thereIMG_5999.jpg IMG_6069.jpg

No need, the passenger side light was out so I decided to replace both with LED bulbs. Probably going to swap out the turn signals and reverse lights with LED’s, too.

That’s a big dog!!! I know he loves being in the back of that 4Runner I did a light midnight desert run. It got hot fast out there, but it was still nice getting And the 4runner always performs so nicely and it’s so comfortable

I don't find Carhartt front seat cover for my 2024 4Runner SR5. Only the Super DUX show on Amazon up to 2022. I wonder if those fit the 2024?

As others have already mentioned.. the CoverCraft Website shows MANY options for Carhartt for the 2024 model. And yes the seats for the SR5 are the same 2016 to 2024.

replaced my front turn signals. the led's lasted about a year. i use them as the DRLS while driving so im guessing hours wise they got worn down and i got the hyperflash and they started failing.

By mistake I found out why my runner feels Zippier than any other ones I have driven. I was cleaning it and saw Pedal Commander controller underneath the steering column. It was connected and active. Was on City mode. After downloading the free App I was able to add it to my new account and so like magic, I have a Pedal Commander system. Who knew? I just didn't see it before. Anyway, Its now set on Sport and I love it. I have also got new cubby Drawers, Console and Glover Organizers, Chrome Delete interior handle overlays, Temp and Radio Black overlays, and Voodoo Blue Steering Symbol overlay.

Debating between Caliraised Led or CBI sliders

Everyone was right. This thread and the mods add $$$$ to the purchase. But damn this is fun to have. (new owner as of a few weeks ago)

Wife & kids ditched me to Birch Bay, WA lol
    ..I gotta work
But it allowed me time to obtain everything to properly paint raw steel parts. First was automotive self etch primer, and today a tack cloth, which I just learned existed from 4runners.com.
Should be ready for install when 4R returns Wednesday.

Thanks for your m12 thread chaser link
This cleaned steel is quite pretty, that’d be wild to be located somewhere like NM.

    Hey
So yeah man I could re-use the bolts I took out, but would still need a pair for the passenger frame (I chopped exhaust it comes out the side). I want both sides hardware to match and factory pair is too beat up. I’m confident from @water, and other helpful folks, that the included JIS10.9 carbon steel hardware you’ll receive will fit OK once thread chased.

@Saker any chance you, or anyone, used a bore brush first? before chasing if needed
Pretty sure I remember buddy who fab’d and installed my sliders busted out a bore brush.
Stainless steel, brass, and nylon brushes in the kit apparently.
    Thanks

there’s definitely YouTube videos on that for install and removal of cross rails. I believe the end caps have to come off

Yes, the end caps have to come off. It's a pretty easy job. I think I spent about 15 minutes on the whole task.

You need a plastic trim tool, and ought to put a soft cloth between the roof and the trim tool.

As TrailSpecial22 said, there are good vids on YouTube -- I found one to follow when I installed mine.

Upgraded the old halogen LB, HB and Fogs to LEDs on the 2011 SR5. Went with:

Lasfit LED LA AIR 9005 100W Series | 10,000LM 6000K LED high beam bulbs (I think I permanently blinded three deer and a cat last night)

Auxbeam H11 LED amber fog light bulb 3000K, 12000LM (quite impressed with the light output fwd/side to side)

Lasfit LED LA AIR H1170W Series | 7,000LM 6000K LED Low beam bulbs (down road brightness and clarity is amazing with nice cut off line)

Holy hell what a difference! I cant believe myself or my son have been driving practically by candle light with those lows/highs for so long.

low beams required a smidge of adjustment down but no on-coming flashes at me last night driving around.

I upgraded the low beam and high beam to Lasfit a couple months ago on my wife’s 2016 Mazda CX5 because the halogens were crap. I’m so happy with those as well. Anytime my wife drives at night She thanks me for upgrading them back in January 2025

Washed it and put another coat of paint sealant on it.
