I've been jonesing for a 4WD truck due to watching too many off road videos. I found this awesome SR5 V8 4Runner and have been dunking money into it ever since. Radio didn't work so I've upgraded it with reverse camera, speakers, and small powered sub. I'm an off road dreamer, living in a completely flat area so it needed a lift, so Rough Country 3". While at shop for lift install, they suggested replacing CVs due to leaking (got a decent price) Due to limited space to back boat into yard a front hitch is on, rear hatch actuator didn't work so I replaced it, window seals were all replaced, and being in the tropics, I put vent visors in to dissipate some of the heat. Since it's a V8 and drinks gas, I saw no reason for such a quiet truck and added a mild Magflow exhaust. - love the sound now. Current tires are in excellent shape so in a couple years I plan to put some taller tires on it.
Ideally. I'd love to take it overlanding sometime in the future. IMG_0664.jpg IMG_0670.jpg IMG_0671.jpg

    1) how many miles does it have
    2) how many miles since the timing belt and water pump was done
    3) if you dont know how many miles the timing belt has then you need to pop the drivers side cover off and pull it back and inspect the belt
    4) if the mileage is unknown, and you inspect, and the belt has cracks, stop driving it until you can purchase the TOYOTA or Aisin timing belt kit (not from Amazon, known scammers on there)

The timing belt is the silent killer of those engines, they will run forever if the timing belt is kept up. If left alone and forgotten about, the timing belt WILL break eventually and it will destroy the engine making it into a paper weight, effectively ruining the whole vehicle and making it into a shiny pretty piece of yard art.

Trailer connector relocate, tint, work lights, Pro wheels.

Don’t sweat too much about that, man.
A friend of mine has three — one V8 and two V6 — the fuel economy penalty on the V8 is only about 1 mpg.

I don't see where to reply individually, Thank you for the information about timing belt, truck currently has app. 114,000 miles on it and there is a sticker that says timing belt was done in '17 with 93,000 miles on it. Just took it on a 1300 mile joy ride and everything was kosher, fluids, AC, tire pressure, temp. Whoever owned this previously (from North Carolina) took really good care of it. I feel really blessed, incl IMG_0668.jpg

Last picture was a joke about its rust, it is pretty much rust free. One blemish was the drivers seat which after a few hundred more bucks is now much better.

there is nothing more worthwhile than putting money into your 4runner!:yes::yes: It’s really a nice looking rig and you’re gonna make it even nicer with all the things you’re doing and I did like that comment about being a flat earther with a 3 inch lift good one!

welcome, I have a 2007 SR5 approaching 375000 miles, recently did an OME 2" lift and put 265/70 r17 tires on TRD pro rims. I Love the lift wish I had done it years ago. Just recently had to replace both front wheel bearings but everything else is in great shape and running strong. These things are amazing and will run a LONG time if you take care of fluids etc
