Anyone drinking tonight... or, today??

I feel like I celebrated freedom appropriately this weekend. Scotch, cigars, a few beers on the kayak, Ranch water, piña coladas, and lots of water in between! Had a steak and a bunch of brats. Good times!

 

Plus one on the Penelope, recently tried another branch of that tree (toasted) and was very impressed...Freeedom.

Penelope is on sale at my store right now. Have had toasted rye before - picked up a bottle of toasted bourbon today. Good stuff!

 

This was $54 at a little gas station/convenience store near where I was camping. Penelope was recommended to me by a friend who is a big bourbon nut. I figured a patriotic sampler was a no brainer!

Business in San Diego this week.

 

I drank like 17,000 of those in my 20's. I'm just now getting to a point where I can drink cheap beer again. I drank a bunch of PBR at a festival on Saturday. Good times!

Same here. Drank mostly PBR non-stop when young. Then one day I cracked one open, took a sip and wanted to vomit. Craft beer it was after that.

 

I bet I have a good guess.

I drink a fair amount of craft beer, also. I've recently gotten to a point where I I'll drink cheap beer on occasion and I don't mind it.

 

I was able to drink a Coors Light a few years ago. But aside from that just the smell of cheap beer makes me ill. My wallet would prefer PBR but my body just can’t handle that stuff anymore.

 

Yeah. If I'm buying beer, it's usually a German Lager or some kind of micro-brew.

I also go through phases when I hardly drink beer, but mostly drink cocktails. I was camping this weekend, but I brought cocktail fixings because it was too hot for beer.

 

I also lucked up and scored a bottle in Gaston County.

 

I never thought I’d say this, but there are really nice craft seltzers out there that are quite refreshing on really hot days.

 

But banjos-n-seltzer doesn't have the same ring to it.

 

Is that a thing?!?!

 

It’s as rare as a hen’s tooth but known to happen.

 

I just prefer certain cocktails over beer when it's hot. Ranch water is one of my favorites.

 

A nice Pilsner, Kolsch or Cream Ale beats an IPA on a hot day.

And agree with cocktails too. I just don’t have that stuff at home.

Just waiting on the Missus to get her refill then I'll have her fill my cup up again. Too comfy in my recliner to get up and do it myself!

 

A good German Lager beats all of these things pretty much every day, IMO.
