Hey all! New to the forum. I’m consider purchase of a ‘24 TRD Pro. Looking at the 4Runner, it has a slight reverse rake.
It doesn’t put me off on buying the vehicle, but want to confirm what’s been done to it (it’s a dealer purchase and they don’t know).
I took some pictures of the driver front suspension. From this, can someone tell me what’s been modified? It isn’t clear to me there is a spacer?

Looks like just a spacer stuffed up on top of the coil. Probably could just remove that and get an alignment.

Welcome. Looks like it has a spacer installed to attempt to level it. How does it look on level ground.

Thanks for all the replies. The drive way is fairly level. It doesn’t look bad (in my opinion) but it is noticeable to me. It’s going to be my wife’s car and she doesn’t notice it so we may just leave it if we buy.

Should I expect a significant hit to MPG, compared to it being stock?

    Welcome.

If it were mine I would remove the front spacers.

Don't like the squat and if you put a load in the cargo area and/or tow anything it's going to be worse.

A small spacer or lift spring in the rear will correct that rake. Hell of a lot cheaper than pulling the front spacers out, and you'll have a nice little lift.

The spacer lift on that 4Runner have is completely fine. Its not the crappy massive top plate spacer style that eide

Do you know what brand spacer these are on the front?
Any recommendations on specific spacers or springs to put on the rear?

Before you buy it. Have the dealer remove the spacers and do alignment. Help with the buying process.

It looks like either Westcott like mentioned above, or possibly Toytec. However I'm not sure if Toytec ever made that style for the 19+ Pro's (or whenever they switched to Fox).

A rear lift spring from any of the major manufacturers (Toytec, Dobinsons, etc.) will work to level.

I had these for the past 8 years and they worked great. The only reason I swapped them is because my 4Runner got fat, I carry a lot of crap and needed stiffer springs.

    same here thats why I went with a T13 eibach coil: 1.5” lift and 13% stiffer @ 195 lbs/in

Definitely top & bottom spacers from stock pic to yours. 1st I ever saw bottom spacers:notsure:. Only did top on my 2018 TRD OR Then swapped out for 0.85 lift W/Eibachs. The only draw back was like Op mentioned of towing or load up in aft compartment. Front will float on hiway & when big rig passes have more the 2 fingers on steering wheel. If you don't plan on towing or hiway trips W/Aft loaded nothing wrong W/leveled driving.

The "double spacer" is made my a few companies. Rather than a single fat top spacer to push the entire coilover down, the smaller top spacer pushes the coilover down, and then the bottom spacer replaces the bottom spring perch increasing preload.

Definitely a better system than the single top puck. Keeps more OEM like suspension geometry and stiffens it up to limit that annoying nose dive when braking.

If I wanted to reduce the lift in the front could I remove one or the other?

And it sounds like if I just wanted to remove the levelling kit entirely I am going to have to get a new OEM (or similar) bottom spring perch? Not just as easy as removing the spacers, correct?

Yes, you could. I couldn't tell you however which would be best as I'm not sure which is providing what amount of lift.

Correct, you'd need OEM or similar bottom perches.

Does anyone know where I can purchase the OEM bottom spring perch? Called a couple tire and suspension places and a Toyota dealer and no help. The Toyota dealer can only source the entire shock assembly, not just the perch.

Bingo. If you put a 1” spacer in the back you will be good to go, and, you can fit most 275’s since you have the extra space in front and back.

I have some 3rd row springs so you can rake it forward. Most purpose 4wds have that for more rear traction. My old Ramchargers were always raked to the rear.
