Hey all, I just installed new LBJ’s on my 1997 4Runner this morning, and after installation and alignment, the steering feels very sticky, like it wants to stay stiff. The steering wheel also doesn’t easily want to move back to straight once I let go of it when coming out of a turn, I kinda have to force it back straight. Any thoughts? Maybe the LBJ’s need to just be loosened up as I drive? Thanks!

This shouldn’t have to do with your LBJs, I’d definitely take it back to your alignment shop. Probably more something to do with the steering rack or guides, also too much caster can do this. Did they provide you with an alignment sheet? Either way, the alignment folks should be able to shed some light

Yeah I got an alignment sheet and the alignment was actually a lot better. They said something about my rack and pinion so maybe that’s the issue?

Yep, that would be a good start, steering rack issues could definitely cause your problem
