    Hello All!

Sorry for the post on this if it’s in the wrong place but I’m going crazy here. I have a C4 Ladder and the top bracket that hooks on top of the car which has the double sided tape some how has popped off the tape. I have now re-done 3times with multiple different 3M tapes, the darn thing has gouged the inside of of trunk hatch terribly. Can anyone tell me what thickness 3m tape I need? Or what I need to do? I will upload a picture (I think I’m doing it right)

I'd call C4 and talk to them about it - they are pretty good about responding.

I have the Wescott ladder and mine did the same thing. I am not sure how the C4 gets secured but I was able to tighten down the small screw that secures the bracket on the Wescott ladder down far enough to close the gap.

I don’t have an answer for the OP but I’ve always wondered if those ladders are actually useful with their tight steps or are they more for looks ?

I use mine to hold an extra 2 gallons of water and to help open and close my rooftop tent. It has been far more practical than what I thought it would be initially. Even my kid who made fun of me for buying one thought it was pretty practical after using it the first time.

I would start with contacting C4. They were very responsive when I had an issue.

Which version of the ladder do you have? Do you have the one that you bolt to the bottom of the hatch or the one that just a compression fitting? Do you have all the ladder connections pushed all the way down? Are you using 3M’s VHB tapes? Are you cleaning it thoroughly before hand?

    Hello all,

thank you, I read that someone else had an issue and issue 3M VHB tape. Did that and it seems to work. I use it to carry my shiver and axe along with 3 gallon gas tank. I did upgrade the gas struts for the trunk and it holds well, for me it’s functional as I am constantly using the roof rack I put. C4 was extremely responsive and helped a lot!
