That’s hilarious. I was thinking keys, wallet, sunglasses but I like your idea better.

Yes, everything but a dash cam. I’m pretty sure that is an available option but it s something I would have to remove the sim card in lol

It truly is. My drive is in the sun. I've done it before and getting the soap and water spots off is next to impossible when it’s 110.

I hear ya, and I’ve seen this done before but then I forgot and subsequently made fun of buddy in good spirits. I go to Mexico each year, been to Arizona and a number of states, and went to Texas last year for business…my goodness the heat is something Canada ain’t no nothing about. My cousin went to school in Arizona, and talks about how you “warm up ur car” ahead of time with A/C, and guys bring a second shirt with them daily lol

*edit: you’ve been super helpful answering folks 6th gen questions, bravo

This is my car. I dreamed abou a Lexus, built it online everyday for 10 years. The big smile and the glint in my husbands eye made it easy to choose Trailhunter. However, today he has already dreamed about a winch, hood protector, and many other upgrades. Okay, so I might use the winch if someone steals my parking spot, but…. It’s too funny watching him shop for things. I’m picturing the Beverley hillbillies pick-up. I knew I was in trouble at the car lot when all the men for a mile around swarmed my new car. Too funny! Way too much testosterone around my truck.

If it's your truck, what do YOU want to do with it?

I want to go off-roading before I decide. There is a waterfall not far my house that I’ve been wanting to see, Toquerville Falls, but it’s a rocky trail. The Trailhunter doesn’t have running boards. I like the heavy duty rock protectors but you can’t use them to get in and out. I’m tall so getting in has never been a problem for me. When I took my girlfriend to lunch she had trouble getting in. The automatic electric running boards are very cool but if I go off-roading… it’s a dilemma.

Smart decision to use it before you decide what to do. I slapped a bunch of *stuff* on mine and probably don't use 90% of it to its full use. One of the first things I put on was a winch because I wanted to take my daughter offroad and didn't want to get stuck being solo. What I've found is:
    1. My daughter doesn’t love offroading as much as I do
    2. East coast doesn't have a lot of good trails
    3. Because I'm solo, I don't do stupid things to get stuck and need a winch in the first place
    4. Even though there are trees everywhere, there isn't always a great place to hook up if winch is needed on the trail
I wouldn't worry too much about the running boards. If it currently works for you, that's what matters. I removed running boards and got sliders to the detriment of my short wife and daughter but they can still get in and out when needed (they are wide enough to kinda use as a step - especially the back where there is a kickout).

True running boards are going to hang up offroad if that's your plan, and the electric ones seem cool but if/when they eventually give out, they will be expensive to replace just so your g/f has an easier time hopping in

My 5th gen made it to the falls and your trail hunter certainly can too! Take the main road/trail not the harder side trails and you’ll be good. It’s a fun drive and a rewarding destination. You’ll love it!

It is beautiful and I’m anxious to go in the spring. When the Gunlock Falls were running a few years ago (they don’t run every year) I went. It’s an easy hike. They are beautiful. I believe (not sure) the off-road trail will take me to the top. When they run again I would like to do that too.

Yes! Had it not I believe that would have been a deal breaker. This truck rides like a Lexus, so comfortable for the driver AND the passenger. I’m not sure but the back of the seat feels cool too. I keep meaning to research that. When it’s this hot my back sticks to the seat but in the Trailhunter I feel cool air and my back stays dry.

Yes, but I’m picturing a scene from the old movie “Deliverance” starring Burt Reynolds. It didn’t end well lol.

I always hear people talking about how these body-on-frame SUVs ride like trucks, but I’ve always thought my 5th gen rides like a dream, even after adding aftermarket suspension. When it was stock, I thought it rode like a comfy Lincoln Towncar from the 90s.

Maybe it’s just the 4runners that ride this comfy? In any case, it’s good to hear the 6th gen has kept a nice ride.

I had just come from the Lexus dealership and I had just test drove a Lexus and had that to compare it to. It really does have a luxury car feel and ride with, unfortunately, a sticker price to match.

After thinking about the scene from Deliverance I wondered if there was a YouTube clip. I haven’t watched that movie in decades, but it is a classic. If you’re like my husband the first line you remember from that movie has to do with uh, well, never mind. You can fill in the blank. Here is the rapids clip.

Today my husband is setting up the trailer monitor screen. It has space for 10 different trailers. He has to input the hitch type, break type, number of axels, the length - I think that was it. It’s for the blind spot monitor, camera etc. I like techie toys, but at the moment he’s not. Onc it’s set up I’m pretty sure he will greatly appreciate the electronic eyes.

All good. I have a 3 car garage and water doesnt go everywhere - i use a pressure washer. I actually like doing it in the garage because i then also hose down the floor when I am done. The garage door faces east so i get no shade in the driveway until late in the afternoon.
