I test drove a 2025 Limited yesterday. It didn't go well. First off, the AC - which was on max the entire time - never cooled the back seat. Sure it was a black truck that'd been sitting in the lot on a 96 degree day, but 30 min. later it was still HOT in the back seat and cargo area. Full disclosure, my current DD is a 100 Series that gets cold faster than a commercial meat locker.

I really (!) wish Toyota (S.E. Distribution?) wouldn't assume everyone wants to spend $1,700 for stock size Nittos. Did you know they sell the take-offs?

The 4Runner had the standard 20" wheels and the add-on XL-rated Nitto Terra Grapplers. I was surprised how crappy the ride was. The tires felt like E-rated ATs at 50psi. Are the tires to blame here? My 2020 4Runner - stock and on SL-rated BFG KO2s was smoother than the 2025.

I wouldn't be surprised if the tires were inflated to max psi, which would cause the hard ride.

Mine was delivered with 50 PSI (max sidewall said 45 PSI), somehow PDI missed that. I drove for a few days before I investigated. Was like driving on bricks.

Yes they probably were still at 40-50psi bead seating specs.
The suspension is supposed to be really nice on the new Limited.
I run LRE on one of my 4R and LRD on the second one and am about to order another set of LRD for my 3rd probably next week. Mine ride like a dream when the tire pressure is set right.

That's good to know. I'm probably going to end up with E for my next set of tires, I'm kinda worried about the ride.

I wish there were more C options.

Right?! It's crazy how many trucks run this size/range but so few C or SL options.

My 100 is on E-rated KO2 and they're bricks at 32psi. My 2020 4R (Limited but with 17" wheel) was on C-rated KO2 and it was like butter. I'm not going back to E-rated tires.

I just switched from Firestone Destination M/T (E rated) to Wrangler Duratrac R/T (XL rated) and it's like driving a new vehicle. The M/Ts were excellent off-road, but way to rough for highway driving and developed a shake later in their tenure. I still had plenty of tread left after 60K miles, but I needed that change to a smoother tire.

Maybe the Rear A/C cutoff was turned on. If there is no one is sitting back there, it comes on automatically
