What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Yours looks similar to my tight new balljoint (not oem style tho, but still). I believe factory joints are sealed, no grease zerk, same as mine..so if too much comes out that’s bad

And I’m missing multiple splash guard fasteners

 

Brake cleaner contains chemicals that can dissolve or weaken rubber, causing it to swell, crack, or become brittle.

 

Gunk engine degreaser works good and more friendly to paint and rubber.

 

Did a early dark 30 desert run

 

Installed ARK splash guards on all 4 corners today. Fit nice and tight not bulky like oem. I had to remove oem fronts when I put on wheels/tires 17x8.5 0 255/75/17 the other week.

 

I’m not much of a mechanic, so I’ll defer to those with the knowledge. It was something I saw on a YT vid. So it can’t be wrong can it?

 

I have to agree, just not for me.

 

Splash guards (inside wheel wells) or mud flaps (pictured)?

 

Replaced the gaskets/washers on the VVTi oil supply line. It is known to leak once the miles pile on.
More than a leak it messes the engine bay with a slow seep and can easily be mistaken for a timing cover leak. I did replace the gasket on the timing cover inspection plate last year.
Onto the next leak whenever it shows up.

 

Installed LasFit Hi Beam LED Bulbs

this is a lousy writeup. I didn’t take any before pictures. Old were halogen. easy install. I already have their LED beamLow bulbs & running lite bulbs.. I know these will make a significant difference just having the low beams and the driving lights are awesome
……. not an Expensive mode off Amazon
I know how much some of you guys love raptor lights
Here’s a picture from yesterday with the low beams and the running lights they’re great when I’m driving through the highway in the middle of the night going out to the desert on desolate dark roads and good off-road also
