Getting used to the limited and went up some forest roads in new Mexico and feel like the current tires ( Bridgestone dueler 648 ii) took a beating. I would like to change tires but I don't want to change the rims or make any mods. I just want a bit better tires to handle forest and Gravel roads, some occasional 4x4 etc. Is there a tire in between all season and all terrain ?

Having gone on the tire finder I see 34 choices, 3 of which are all terrain:

    Firestone destination at/2,
    fallen wildpeak at,
    nexen rodian atx

What will change about my driving experience if I do this?
I know this question has been asked a lot and I have read the threads but didn't see anyone who DIDN'T buy new rims.

Falken WP ATs or Falken Rubitrek get my vote. Ive had WPs on 3 4runners and love them. Smooth as glass on the hwy even over 75 mph. Im still on stock rims

    Oooh look, another mod.....
You'll find a lot of guys (and ladies) on this site have Falken Wildpeaks, myself included. If you put these on your rig, this will happen to your driving experience:

    1) You'll feel like a bad ass on the road because you're now making the right choices in life and feel like you have a sense of purpose.
    2) You'll be able to traverse roads/paths better because of the improved grip and stance your SloRunner has.
    3) Men will do a double take while you're driving down the road. First to check our your ride & tires, the second time to check you out. You go girl!

I did not buy rims and I stayed with the stock SIZE. I did not go up in size like so many do.

For the OEM 20" wheels and no lift, you are going to probably want to run a 275/55-20 tire. This is wider, only SLIGHTLY taller like 1/2" or so, but its MUCH beefier on the factory wheels.

Personally i have the General Grabber ATx tire, this is an all terrain that lasts forever, rides great, looks good with its side biters on the sidewall, does great in the snow, sleet, rain, ice, and heat. I really like the General Grabber AT/x tire and they have them in a few sizes but the 275/55-20 is the best fit for a stock vehicle that you dont plan to lift.

The 285 will require 2" lift
The 305 will require 2.5" or more lift

    I like your response
My limited is covered in chrome. I miss my old trd off-road. It was lifted and we had some good times. I miss the look of it the most. My new one is a lot of chrome trim and it doesn't look rugged at all. I feel the tires will help ! Idk what a slorunner is l have to Google that.

A SloRunner is what I call my 4Runner; because if I got into a drag race with a fully loaded school bus, I would lose.

How are ppl getting limited without chrome ? You guys look more like my old trd off-road than my current limited. I want to look like a badass again lol. I LOVE my limited but it does feel a bit chromed out.

Those guys pictured above are both like your old TRD Offroad, their body is mostly color matched. The only way to get a Limited without the chrome is
    1) buy a TRD Sport
    2) cover your chrome with vinyl film or paint or swap out for TRD Sport trim

Again, a TRD Sport is the same as a limited on the exterior but all the chrome is color matched. There are plenty of people who have used vinyl film on the chrome to make it color matched or black, plus Toyota made a Nightshade edition for a few years that had black chrome trim. You can do a few different things but its really all up to you.
