Hello, I'm new to the forum. I recently got a stock 2023 TRD off-road as a work vehicle. I quickly made some minor mods to take the mom car look away lol. I got a 1 inch leveling kit installed in the front to help with the 255/80/17s and trimmed the bumper a bit. I know that spacers aren't ideal but from what I read a small spacer is less likely to cause issues. I am a self employed paleontologist so I haul a lot of gear into the field and occasionally a 300lb triceratops femur out. I noticed that the back had a minor sag when I had it loaded up for this current field session. I eventually plan on building a drawer/sleeping platform in the back. I was looking around and saw the icon 2inch lift springs. They seem to be rated for higher load as well. My question is, can I install these springs on my stock rear suspension without upgrading the struts right away? I eventually plan on overhauling the entire suspension but figured I'd get the most out of the current set up. If I upgrade only the rear springs do I risk damaging/stressing any other elements of the suspension? Like I said I want to get the most out of the stock set up but I don't want to make a shortsighted decision that costs me more in the end.

    Thanks!
    -Rex

    Yes you can.

    1. Look at the dobinsons products first. You will have more options and a more educated purchase.
    2. Sounds like you got good plans the 4R. Enjoy it.

I think this came up before and we couldn't find heavy duty rear springs that dont lift. So you'd end up with a lift in the rear and not in the front and it would look a little stupid.

But google and see if theres heavy duty no lift springs.

    No nothing bad will happen

I can vouch for the Eibach Stage 1 lift kit being well balanced for a daily driver. At +2.5”(ish) front/+1”(ish) rear, it’s a little more lift than I’d prefer, but otherwise a great product.

The Eibach 1" rear lift spring i "believe" is about 50 pounds stiffer than stock, so not only does it give a little lift, it also helps hold a little more weight and sags less with weight in the rear.

If you only went up 1" in the front then on level ground you are still nose down a bit. A 2" lift spring is going to jack the back up a good bit and is really going to need longer rear shocks as well if you offroad. The taller lift springs are going to top the rear shocks out anytime you try to flex it. I have 1" Eibach lift springs and i can feel my rear shocks top out occasionally when crossing over parking lot curbs and such. The droop travel of the stock shocks wont really allow for a whole bunch more lift over stock.

Personally i would run 1" lift springs or a 1" spacer in the rear with stock shocks for now until you build the sleeping platform and load it heavy, and then step up to 2" lift springs and longer shocks. Unless the sleeping platform and gear is in the near future, then just skip to step 2.

Eibach Tech Support claims 205 lb/in versus 180 lb/in for the OE springs for the standard weight lift. There are +200lb and +400lb springs available too

It’s a significant improvement over the stock suspension

2” lift Bilstein 6112 w/600 lb coils front, 1.5” lift Eibach T13 coils rear, Bilstein 5100 rear shocks, TRD skidplate, TRD stainless catback w/black TRD side exhaust, TRD shifter handle, Weathertech bug deflector, 20% tint front, LED door bulbs, 285/70/17 Falken WP AT3, Energy Suspension front bumpstops, SSO Slimline Bumper w/ Badland Shackles, Durobumps 4.25” rear
Eibach T13 rear coils work really nice. Had 3 buddies in the back seat for about 600 lbs and it only sagged about 1/2-3/4”p
