What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Oil change & my wifey has bought new OEM rotors & pads & open country 265/70/17s. The inferno is at 96k miles. Still stock but she loves it & I was happy she picked her new favorite tires

 

And not one pic .

 

Changed out the calipers - fronts were finally done at 187k. New rotors and pads all around as well.

for me it’s now become worth the price of @Saker ’s replacement hardware kit lol

 

wire wheeled some rust spots then ran it through the car wash. hit the underside with some vht chassis paint.
installed the cali raised rear hatch molle panel and installed my gobi ladder. tomorrow hoping to get the dashcam installed and swap out a turn signal bulb.

 

finished replacing a half dozen rusty fasteners with 18.8 in the drivers side wheel wells.

 

Props to you for staying on top of that!

 

Did the AC drain line mod this morning before it got too hot

 

or never go to a dealer for an oil change. Nine times out of 10 you’re always coming back with some trouble or headache to deal with

Where did you find the hardware?

 

Not just the dealer, I forgot to pull the front plate when i got new tires. Realized my mistake when i heard it hit the shop floor from the waiting area.

 

I just replied to local dealership about getting free service if my vehicle has under 26k on it. Hell it's @87xx miles only since 22-Nov-23. I have never bought a vehicle from them Tri-County Toyota because they won't deal! I told them that & I never except a door lock actuator R&R under warranty(Where I bought my 2018 TRD OR) have had my vehicle serviced @ dealerships because of all the horror stories I read on forums from other Toyota owners. Asked to be removed from email list too.

Tri County Toyota dealership is the worst place to buy and service there. I had nothing but bad experience with them. Heard others had the same experience. Sloan in Malvern, PA has the best service, they will not try to do service that is not needed. I been going there for over 10 years. Serviced my FJ, 4runner and wife's Rav4 there.

 

sloane malvern and glenside are great.

 

It is worth the 45 min drive.

 

Bought 1st 2008 FJ from Sloan @ old facility, Bought the 2018 4Runner at Malvern & that's where had warranty D/S door actuator R&R. Bought current 4Runner from Bennett in Allentown They were the closest & had the Ice Cap Pro I wanted.
I used to play in a Co-ed Volley ball league & the owners Daughters & son played in it. Their team sucked too.LOL

 

I also bought my 4runner at Sloane, it was the floor model. Sales person gave my son and I hats, water tumblers, and key chains. He was awesome. He also took off $5000 since it was the floor model and I was paying in cash.

 

thanks my dude, problem is I’m obsessed with always finding something to do on the truck, I find myself fighting the urge every night.

 

After looking at every hardware store I ended up buying for first time from The Bolt Supply House, a badass store about 30 min away.

 

took advantage of the kiddos naptime, took apart the 4R grille and bumper cover a bit to fix the seam where clips popped out due to crashing into a stump (slowly)

 

Those pesky stump things. Always jumping out in your way all sneaky like a squirrel.

 

Ah, secret Canadian hardware stores. Found these on Jeff's. S/S black zinc coated Licence plate Screws.

Those look nice, and black would probably be most folks strict preference. But, black zinc coated rusts, two different types rusted on me in a year on my Universal EZ Fender Flares. So I went h.a.m on the ss

 

My bad, re-read that sorry, you’re sayin those are both stainless steel (18/8,304,316?), and black zinc plated?

 

That's what is advertised.

 

Never mind don’t listen to me then, perhaps those are the best of both worlds.
