5th gen window motor $$$$$

Folks!

I called up the Yota dealer and talked to the parts department about getting a window motor because my dog's window finally kicked the bucket from 9 years of my dog hanging his head out of the window in the pouring rain

Anyway... They quoted $1300 for a WINDOW MOTOR... I didn't even bother asking what the regulator+motor pack would cost

Is this what Canada has become or are the prices that high everywhere?

Find a junk yard or go on ebay and get one of the junk yards that will ship.

OEM is $239 here in the states brand new from Toyota
Ebay shows $33-$80 for aftermarket

Toyota part prices in Canada have always been higher than the States. Plus less online competition from parts departments up here due to lack on online stores.

Find the part number you need and Google it. It might be cheaper from the States or in some cases for parts, it's cheaper getting it from Japan, even when you factor in shipping.

 

$239 USD versus $1300 CAD from Toyota is a bonkers price diff.

I tried the junkyards... None across the country have window motors... Apparently. There's barely any 5th gens in the junk yards anyway, almost zero units on the whole East Coast. (Which is a cool fact haha)

None of the auto parts stores here in Canada can even ORDER an aftermarket one.

It's the Left (Driver) rear motor that's shot. I can't find it on Amazon, I only found 2 pin and I need 4 pin.

Haven't used eBay in years, guess I'll get back on and have a look.

Thanks for the Japan link. Might give that a try.. my old girl has almost 300,000 kms ( bought it when she only has 15,000 km back in 2016... This is the first non suspension related part I've had to buy for it. Probably going to need to order more and more parts because I'm definitely not supporting "local" dealerships at their prices

I went to car-part.com, put in window motor, lh rear and around 75 popped up, $49 to $150.

 

How much is that in real money?

 

940 Merica dollars...
