I was wanting to install raptor lights but don't really want to use a fuse tap. I've seen a couple of videos saying that you can use a wire tap to the running lights, but I can't find a good video to see which wire exactly I would be tapping to. Any further help would be much appreciated. This would be for a 2023 SR5.

Good morning Dave. For some reason Raptor Lights are a hot button on this site. I don't have them but most on here will bash them. You do you and if you like them then go for it and don't listen to the haters. As far as the wire tap goes, I am not sure. I would call the supplier and see what their thoughts are. I did see in a video a while back where the fang lights use a wire tap. Have never tried it but hope you get the answer you are looking for.

Just pickup a cheap circuit tester from your autoparts store. A better option is to add a switch panel. Only if you intend to expand your lighting.

I have mine tapped directly into front side running light. Only come on when running lights are on. I believe it's the green wire of the running light I tapped into. No more Janky fuse tap BS. Super happy with it. Got the idea from a video but can't remember which one. They only slightly and quickly mentioned it and I was immediately out in the garage. Works perfectly!

I tapped mine into the dimmer circuit so I can always dim them down

There's plenty of good hot wires if you open up the left foot well area panel

Too poor to buy anything now
Dave, I'm not a fan of raptor lights. That said, I think most issues caused are due to an inferior product. They're just low current LED's that should not overload most any circuit.
Most of the horror stories are burned out cheap LEDs and installation caused shorts to the vehicle computer (I think).
Research the lights you want to buy and avoid Amazon for them. Amazon's suppliers for such and the cheapest of the cheap.

Id NEVER put raptor lights on mine but if I did I would not get them from Amazon AND I would run them to a dedicated circuit.

Depends a lot on where you buy it from.
Regardless all are made and imported from Overseas.

Got mines from Lifestyles. Used Fuse Tap into INJ
3 Years now. No wiring/fuse Issues.

Mine didn't have much luck. Installed July end 2023 -> put in trash on early March 2024.

Oh, those are just Auxbeam 4in spot lights from Amazon. Its the yellow chip reflect as yellow. But they are really white lights.

Fuse tap or hard wire is the way to go, wire tap, though easy is not the best way to do it. Can become an issue.

A fuse tap is a way better way to grab power than splicing into your factory wiring / using a T connector.

No comment on the Raptor lights themselves.
