Just got a new monthly premium for $290 a month from Farmers. 2020 5th Gen. and I’ve got a good driving record. Been with them since I got my DL in HS back in 91. Now thinking about switching and getting quotes from Geico and AAA. Any recommendations? Looking for reputable companies that can follow through on claims. The only requirement I have with Farmers is OEM replacement parts only.

My USAA premium went up here in San Diego recently, too. I’m guessing it’s due to increasing property crime and theft rates. We overpay for everything in CA already, might as well have high auto insurance rates, too.

I have State Farm and the rates are getting crazy. My premium for my 21’ was $680 in socal back in 2021. This was for full coverage every semi annually. Now it’s $980 every semi annually.

Part of why your rates went up is because you have stuck with the same company. I used to be loyal to one company and then I shopped around and saved quite a bit. It’s unfortunate but true, our loyalty is rewarded by increasing premiums. I now shop around every couple of years. Admittedly, it’s a game of wack-k-mole.

$980 is a deal compared to my $1745 semiannual.

Spot on my friend! There is no loyalty anymore with any of the crooked insurance companies. Here in AZ rates are high too because of all the illegals and fools with no insurance.

Holy shit! I thought mine was high in TX.i search for rates every 6 months. @Slopemaster is right there is no loyalty to you, so makes you loyal to them?

And i get quotes every year for home

I went through Select Quote to get the best rate. We pay $4900 per year for 4 vehicles and my house.

I live in NorCal and pay $283 a month for TWO vehicles. 2024 Tesla Model 3 & 2015 4Runner TRD PRO, both combined through Tesla Insurance.
It was the cheapest rate I could find for both my vehicles. Most insurance companies were quoting me over $600 a month.

Although my collision deductibles for the 4Runner and Model 3 are $1000.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that I have a point on my record for claiming a collision (backed up my old 2018 Tesla into a wall. Minimal trunk lid damage)

New and used car prices continue to increase.

That makes it more expensive for insurance companies to replace / repair them.

That's the primary driver on why rates are increasing.

We have American Family and couldnt be happier, VERY responsive to claims. We just got our renewal and we were shocked the price DIDN'T go up for this year

Will have to check my rate now with Liberty, but will say their accident forgiveness is a real thing. You get one accident every 5 years of good driving and no rate increase.

SoCal is a special level of bad, a lot of people driving without license and insurance that insurance companies can't go after and their cars can't be impounded. Voters wanted it this way.

I have had connect thru costco for many years. 3 car multi policy. For my 2024 ORP the premium is $600 every 6 months. I am retired and drive less than 7500 miles. My wife, who drives 12k miles annually, the premium is $740 every 6 months on her 2023 hybrid highlander. My policy increased by $640 for the 3 cars in the last 6 month renewal. It never increased until we put our daughter on the policy. We are located in So Cal.
