Has anyone ever used this ? Wondering why the two pieces as it would almost seem like there could be a potential issue ? Two pieces ?

^According to this Amz review, the two gaskets are for variants in engine configuration?

OEM is the best for fit and reliability

Guess the FIP would be better than a gasket

I used a FelPro Transmission gasket so that I could change my filter down the road again. No leaks after a few years now.

For the oil pan, I'd probably do the FIP though. The TOYOTA FIP is really really good stuff.

But I'll say, if torqued down right, the gasket should be about as reliable as the FIP.

Do you have any idea why the Fel-pro comes as two identical pieces/gaskets?

No idea for the oil pan gaskets. I only redid my transmission pan and I only got one.

Do the holes line up in both of the oil pan gaskets?

NO! That oil pan is sealed with FIPG from the factory. Return that cheap crap and use what is called for. The oil pan surface is designed specially for RTV type gasket. Make sure you clean that pan real good and remove all oil residue. You'll probably bend the pan while removing it, so be prepared to straighten it with a hammer and block of wood.

I’ve just heard the felpro isn’t the same as it was 20 years ago. I’d go with OEM. But that’s me after 40 years of learning the hard way. Now it’s OEM for anything that goes on my truck

So you got a spare I guess. Only way to know if they fit is to pull the pan and line one up. Or like was said, return them and use the TOYOTA FIPG which is a gasket in a tube and fitment is not an issue.

Do you know the cure time of Toyota FIPG? Do you have to wait 24hrs before filling the engine with oil?

You shouldn't need to wait that long. Full cure may take that long, but a couple of hours wait time is sufficient in my experience. If you're DIY'n on the weekend, you might as well let it setup overnight.

On cooling systems, I'm fully confident with FIPG after an hour, but always shoot for an hour and a half. These are vehicles that I get to see for 100k + miles after repairs and I expect them to be leak-free. Having said all that, I have been using Right Stuff the last couple of years. It cures really fast and hasn't let me down yet. Sometimes it's a little thicker than preferred, but no biggie.

On a side note, when I do my ring and pinion swap soon, I will likely use the Toyota orange Transaxle FIPG and fill it within an hour. That stuff works excellent in gear oil and trans fluid applications. Because it's a big job, I'd really like to do it only once.
