Swapped wheels from my wife’s 2020 4Runner (TRD Pro) onto my 2019 (TRD Pro) and gave her my used but great tires and put new tires on her wheels that were swapped onto my ride.

ODB2 TPMS flash/reset worked on her rig, no issues, but my TPMS light will not reset or turn off.

Devices have been flashed, tried multiple devices, tried mapping the old sensors to the new sensors even tried new tire sensors and no luck.

Thinking about swapping wheels and tires back just to get the TPMS light to go off.

Just bitching but any thoughts are appreciated…

Had similar worry on mine when I swapped summer for winters. It took 4 days of driving for it to work.

I know they are still fairly new but you sure one didn't go bad during the swap?

Dd you take it for a ride after swapping around? The last time I set the sensors on my 2022, It took about 20 minutes of driving before the pressures showed up. Just wanted to throw that out there.

Flashed and re-flashed using numerous devices and have driven hours with no success.

Also, I installed new sensors on my 4Runner and still no bueno.

    It’s happening on both vehicles.

I’m going to swap the wheels back this weekend and re-flash again in hopes this resolves the issue.

Second this. It always takes 4+ days for mine to register again. Don’t have a clue why. I just end up driving around with the light on until it turns off

New here, with a question '15 Limited. My son has a 24 TRD Offroad and offered me his 17in tires. No problem with the swap but the tpms light is still on a week later. I was thinking it would have connected by now but is my option to ask a tire shop for recalibrating? I did check the manual.

Did you register the TPMS in the 17" tires with your 4runner? If not then the truck won't know to look for them. I believe in your year 4R you have to have a shop do it as it can't be done through the gauge cluster like the newest 4runners.

We didn't - just swapped the tires. I figured my truck was a little too old to have it be easy. Thanks for verifying.

The sensor frequencies are most likely different between the 2015 and the 2024. The Tundra is like that. The 20-21 is different than the 14-19.

I just took off old tires/rims, like a dummy forgot the tmps and ended up buying new ones and installed them. Registered them, flashed and even did a hard reset and still nothing. I unfortunately have to have the light off for shipping or I cannot ship.

The car is reading the new sensors but it’s like the car computer wont communicate to turn off the light

Not sure what to do. Currently driving with the light on and will try the 4+days of driving to see if that’s the trick.

What year and what brand are the sensors?

Been down this road. Will no longer purchase anything but OEM tpms sensors. Aftermarket sensors were nothing but problems. Mostly sensor drop outs at higher speeds. Finally put Toyota tpms sensors in my TRD wheels and it now seamlessly changes between wheel sets via the cluster on my '22.

    Oooh look, another mod.....
I had a similar issue happen. Here's the short version of the story:

I bought new tires from Discount Tire when I bought my ride, they messed up and damaged 1 TPMS sensor (and we later discovered it was 2 damaged ones). I let it go for several months and I had Discount Tire hook up their hand held scanner to my truck and they cleared the TPMS error code.

A few months later I had them install 4 after market sensors. They may be Auxtel's like yours, but I'm not sure. That's when they found the 2nd damaged sensor. They had to hook up their machine again to clear all the codes and set everything back to default and boom....no more error codes and the tires give a read out.

Seeing that error code pop up on the infotainment system was maddening.
