Public health emergency preparedness and response. Many years in the emergency management profession but was new to the public health side when I started this job in 2019. “Don’t worry,” they said, “nothing ever happens in public health.”

Started in aviation and I’m almost done with a novel based on my experiences with my first airline. Here’s a draft of the back cover blurbs. Pic by my former colleague Captain Mike Martin. Sorry, the colors are tough to read here. Working on that.

Retired EE, public utilities investigator (very short-lived), touring musician and sales/artist relations for a musical equipment manufacturer. I was briefly on TMZ Live, they got tired of me hating on everything they loved and saying (without context) "Joan Rivers was right" during a conference call.

I got fired from an all-gay/lesbian band for describing myself as a "flaming heterosexual."

You ever spent some time dealing with Pax River guys?

My previous life was spent traveling the world and visit far flung places to make the NAVSEA and NAVAIR guys and gals look good. I am glad I am in a place now where I don't have to spend most of nights in 2nd and 3rd rate hotels in port cities if I'm lucky enough to not have to bunk with squids.

I haven't. I'm lucky in that i'm in San Diego and we have a pretty big local military presence. I work in a 'production facility' owned by the company i work for and we deliver our completed systems locally. However, when i worked the shipboard installation side of the business (different contract but installing the systems i now build) i did have to travel mostly to the PacNorWest, i.e. Bremerton, Everett, Seattle) or down to the San Diego shipyards. Thankfully i don't do that anymore as i don't like travelling for work, lol. NWIC (previously SPAWAR) is my customer now.
