What have you done to your 5th Gen 4Runner today?

Easy and simple protection. Shoulda done it when I first installed suspension. Hose was getting some rub from the tires so put on these Dobinsons Reservoir Hose guards.

 

Those are what the 4th gen Tacoma owners need while they're waiting for the fix for the brake lines...

 

And the battery still has a charge.

 

Does this give more travel or smoother ride?

 

LOL, yep they are a pain in the ass to put back. Took me almost 3 beers to do it.

Made it haul 2 composite foldable Aderondak chairs & small table home .

I did the same. Those lock nuts are more of a pain than a benefit.

 

Changed out the coolant this morning. Engine drain bolt was a bear to break loose

 

gotta do that and trans fluid on my 2011 SR5. Its slightly overdue.

 

I read that as it's only been done once, if that. How many miles since the last change?

Yeah, it's due. Good on ya to keep up with the maintenance. I did all my fluid changes earlier this week. Spark plugs, too. And a starter. (Too many water x-ings . All 7 of us had starter issues.) Still need to do the oil change and tire rotate. 108,000 miles. Headin' to Alaska for a month on the 21st.

 

Went to put some DC4 on the 4 pin trailer connector. When I opened the cap water accumulated in there.

Just got back from my annual inspection. Tech said “man that is one of the cleanest and nicest 4runner I’ve seen!” Put a smile in my face

 

Tomorrow gonna make it tow trailer W/ATV up to FRO for some riding W/friends!

 

Walked by it and said "I don't need you today, rest well my friend", and hand pulled my boat to shore.

Found a deal a few weeks back on toyota coolant from a dealer, finally spent some time on it and rotated tires. Only down side is it took me hours to swap tires around: I feel so much older.

 

hours? Something give you trouble? Should only take about 20 mins using 2 jacks

 

Oil change,Frontend alignment and rotate balance tires

 

Installed the Cali Raised combo light bar and then subsequently burned out one of the switch buttons

 

Relay? Their harness?

 

Changed the engine oil. Noticed my plastic foot stool fits perfectly under the front skid plate to support it while removing bolts.



Installed new 2-ft LED whips. Hopefully they last longer than the previous Vevor ones, which failed after 5 days.



Got an

$20 Bottle Jack Adapter for 12t Jacks, Safe Steel Bottle Jacks Adapter Lifting Saddle for 3" and 4" Round&Square Axle Tube, Fits1.65"(42mm) or Smaller Diameter Bottle Jack Accessories

axle saddle for the stock jack. Being 12-ton rated, it's grossly overbuilt (heavy) for the 4Runner application, and does not allow the jack to compress to its minimum height. Remains to be seen if it'll actually fit under the axle when the tire is flat.

 

What’s the purpose of those whips ?
