Anyone try the Ruthenium spark plug

22 SR5 78k miles

I am "preparing" for a spark plug change - probably 3 months out but again just preparing. I noticed on Rock Auto they have some Iridium for $8.67/each and Ruthenium for the same price. Just didnt know if anyone has tried the Ruthenium plugs.

IMHO, I would stick with OEM. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

 

I hear you. The OEMs are the NGK Iridium.

 

Once you try plutonium plugs, you'll never go back to anything less.

I'll swear it's getting harder and harder to get meaningful info from a search. One site I saw said 20% fuel efficiency gain with ruthenium. Man, Toyota could have stuck with a V6 if the engineers knew this one simple trick.

 

Yeah, if you got 20% efficiency every car manufacturer would have them. I am going to stick with NGK Iridium.
