Fang Light Install Issues

I just installed fang lights on my 4Runner and everything was working perfectly before the install. Now the fang light DRLs work and so do the turn signals. But my left turn signal stays on constantly until I turn it on then it starts blinking like normal. And the right turn signal stays off until I turn it on but it now blinks faster than normal. any help is appreciated idk where I went wrong. I followed the 4Runner lifestyle tutorial on youtube and tapped into the INJ fuse in the engine bay.

^ or Raptor lights. It saddens me to see proud new owners unwittingly induce electrical issues due to aftermarket lighting systems.

Welcome. The inj is a constant power so you probably put the wrong wire on it and just need to swap them around. Like @ThacTha said, seeing the worrying would help.

You are fooling with the most complicated system on your Runner and you don't know what you're doing.

Agreed. People act like we're re-wiring the internet. It's kind of easy. The wires are color coded...

What I posted is true. He obviously doesn't know what he's doing or he wouldn't be having problems.

Defend him all you want. It just makes you look foolish to those of us that understand electricity...

 

So if he knows what he's doing and is competent, why's he having trouble if it's so easy?

 

There's more than just fang lights (raptor, ditch, roof light bar) in that photo, and even if the others were installed separately, they might be affecting the outcome.

I’ve had trouble with some stuff that was easy in hindsight, not all of us “understand” electricity as well as you but perhaps our nuts are bigger

 

Admins, can you pls ban all member who tap into INJ fuse?

I used a dedicated relay wire harness for the 4Runner lifestyle raptor lights that failed in 7 months or so. I encourage ppl not to add these kinda stuff to their $50,000 4Runner.

 

well that’s where I guess I kinda have to disagree, I have 3-4 aftermarket relay/switch harnesses that have performed perfect for my use. Get what you pay for, I didn’t use Amazon. I did have one DT lead fail last week, first component in a few years, I still recommend

I meant to say I didn't use inj fuse. I wired the raptor lights like a light bar going above and beyond adding the dash switch, etc..

 

Easy there skipper. You’re just assuming he did something wrong. Maybe the lights are defective. I’m SURE you fck d up wiring before. Anyone who’s touched a car had made some type of mistake. It happens. Stop sounding like you’re some expert.

Except the fang lights are such low current that I opted for piggybacking. Plus all my dash switch locations are full lol

 

Why not apply your understanding of electricity to actually him solve the problem?

You're taking such a chance with that whole 0.2mA drawing that electricity from the most important system in your 50K$ truck. Lol
